Just got my quote for renewal through the post this morning, and the funny thing is I was just saying the other day how excellent it was that I had an "agreed" value on the policy!!!!!
Anyway I get the paperwork thru, and there's an asterisk beside the vehicle description, so i think to myself that usually means something bad.....
It says *All vehicles are now on a market value basis, agreed values are no longer available.
I think that's pretty shit TBH, I'm gonna phone up and see if i can find out a little more. God forbid I was to make a claim, what is the agreed market value of a K plate sierra???

There is agreed market value in the eye of a seller and there is agreed market value in the eyes of a trader or even worse...an insurance underwriter acting on behalf of his employer, the insurance company. And believe me they are WORLDS apart.
So now you pay the same premium (or more!!) and get much less in the event of a payout!! That's not a good deal in my book. I'd shop around and tell them to do one!!

That was precisely my line of thinking, from initial impressions it seems like you'd pay more on your premium to have a "modified" and nice example, yet you'd probably get closer to an average price (especially a saph as most of them are scabby and only fit for breaking) for it if it got wrecked. Doesn't really seem to be fair.
Thanks for the input, glad it's just not me that sees it like that.
