its not a standard engine in the corsa, obviously the red tops only run around 150bhp standard.

ford may have more power but that power has got to get put down on the tarmac! the lad in the corsa drives the thing day in day out, he knows the car inside out.

no disrespect to danny, but he hast driven his for a while the lad in the corsa is gonna have the advantage there, and the corsa is way lighter than the S2 turbo.

just have to wait and see

When i was into Vauxhalls i always though as above, that they need throttle bodies etc... to reach 200 or so.
I remmeber the 196 SBD throttle body conversion and a certain member of MiG not being happy that it didnt reach that lol

i don't know the full spec list, but as far as i know is, 4 branch manifold, high lift cams, power cap, flowed and ported head, de-cat, air filter, he said something about different injectors as well.

don't know a full spec list, but thats the jist of what i got

was a bit doubtful meself as to be running that sort of power as said throttle bodies or some twin 45's would be in order. but, never know

regardless of power it has to be seen how quick it is!!! even if its not running exactly 186 bhp i still think it will come out on top of the RS

even if this 'fake' 186hp @ wheels is true the corsa is still shafted, not enough power still. The weight argument ain't a huge influence because difference in minimal.

admittedly i have also found out that the car isnt as standered as 1st thought. this has created alot of intrest near me so im sure the cameras are gonna be out. If its wet i wont even bother, so if its a dry day its game on. IMO its down to wether i can get the power down off the lights, i know mines the faster car over the distance altho the race strip isnt massive. All goes down to the lanch

The 5dr Corsa on the 1st page is mine.
800KGS was just a guess Ive since found out its more likely to be
about 884.99 kg
Ive also found the weight of a ERST to be about 977.27 kg.
the weight figures were from www.carstats.co.uk then converted from lbs to KG's for ease of use.

With the power you have I see no reason why you wouldnt leave him for dust with a good launch on your part and with a bad launch you'd catch quick enough.
Mines boggo standard 150BHP probably closer to 140-145 though due to exhaust being a bit of a mish mash of performance and standard althought it has got a 4-2-1 manifold and no cat, also the age of engine.
Thats the only reason I bought it, gonna run it for 6months then sell it on.
I hope that wasnt directed towards me as I made no claims to ba able to beat a 230bhp ERST.
