2.0 Corsa Vs 2.0Zvh
Okay, Theres a car thats just come on the scene near me (5 door kitted 2.0 corsa non turbo) looks quite quick but still its a 5 door and @ that a corsa. I drive a escort turbo zvh running around 230bhp altho its been off the road for winter and MOT (this week) etc... Getting to the point
Who has the faster car? who would ya say? (reason, im having the piss taken constantly saying that im gonna get smoked off all my friends)
So before i go and make a fool of myself saying iv got the better car what would you guys but ya money on?

Id say youd take him easily depending if his tuned or not. There around 150 bhp std so you have loads more power and shed loads more torque from the turbo so aslong as you didnt fuck the launch and wheelspin like fuck youd pull away no worries.
Its all down to how well you can put down your power. No point haveing loads of power if you cant get it down onto the tarmac.

The cosra is completly standered 2.0 its a proper sleeper no exhaust and sutatle body kit other, still on standered filter aswell. Im not bad at getting power down got a 4 paddle clutch in there and lanch like a shuttle providing a dont bog it

is your car carrying an interior, or speakers in the boot?
those corsa's tend not to be shy, and let's face it - how many people do an engine conversion and stick to a standard lump? next to none.
i'd be inclined to say the corsa myself - the fact he's been driving it around will also put him at an advantage as he'll know how much grip the car can use at this time of year and all the other usuals.
i'd say it's close.

a mate of mine beardy (a well know corsa person) had a 2.0l corsa on throtle bodies and raved on how good it was. my midly tuned RS Turbo about 200 bhp ish ??
came onto a slip road entering the motorway and i very easily left him
from the lights he was better due to not much traction and lag from me, but once traction came back i realed him in with ease

His tb's can have been set up right... But your right from a rolling start i think that the scort would be there or there abouts...
My old nova weighed about 950 with me in it and did a standing 1/4 in 13.7 and had 200bhp. If thats anything to go by lol

You will smoke the balls out of it....mate of mine had an rs turbo running about 170bhp and raced a 2litre redtop turbo and the rs turbo was still ever so slightly quicker....so you will smoke it.

230bhp tops i would say still on t3 stage 1 turbo. 
although the rest of the engine is right big intercooler, stage 2 head etc i will just have to find out next week wont i> 
hope i finish in front lol

Once on the move he will be nowhere to be seen from 4th gear on wards.
I own a nova 16v with cams, manifold and full exhaust system, its at its best out of roundabouts etc but top end they just die out imo. Mine is good for 140mph but on an average gets stuck at 137mph(all inaccurate clock speeds btw)

If your car is genuinely around 230bhp you will waste him once rolling.
I raced a 2L Corsa in my 306 GTi 6 and there was nothing in it. My 306 is standard, 167bhp and heavier than an Escort RST so you should have no problem sucking him in your air filter and blowing him out your exhaust!

the corsa is a non turbo un modded engine. car will be out next weeek so il will letcha ya know if im smoked lol although i feel a little more confedent after reading the replies on hear

dont worry i dont know what every one is doubting you for, Believe me you will kill it. i had a nova valver it was fast but Imo a 230bhp rst is faster, p.s what gear box is he running? if its a f16 they do have good acceleration so just be a little wary of that, Also you say it has standard exaust thats defo a disadvantage to him.One more thing please dont race in the wet its too dodgy

I agree that the 230bhp (if a gen 230bhp) will be the Corsa, he will get the jump and you'll reel him in then kiss him bye. Unless there are internal mods, even then he's on 170-180 bhp.
I still laugh at the corsa Turbo being beaten by the car above...

whats the corsa? 150bhp? how heavy are corsas? cant be much lighter than a beantin surely!
that 5 door corsa above is a proper sleeper! well worth Ł800 for novelty factor

Its not just about power though with redtop novas/corsas its traction, they have just enough power to hook up and fuck off at a pretty quick turn of speed, where as anyone who's owned a genuine 230bhp RST will tell you there shit till you grab 3rd then your off.
I'll say it depends on the distance your gonna race him over, short = corsa to win, longer = RST (eventually )

800kg in full road trim is very optomistic!
