you guys dont half know how to OVER EXADGERATE a point ffs
new rad is now paid for and en-route
as for cooling, it currently has an electric fan in its place, this is fin IF you dont get stuck in really bad traffic (i'm talkin 30+mins stationary in hot weather) in which case i've got the viscous fan in the car and can fit this if its looking bad (5sec job)

so your relying on the crappy electric fan to keep it cool? mine didnt stay cool at all when only using this until i got to 40mph in 5th.
YOu need to sort out the cooling fans a.s.a.p. as well as fitting the new rad.

that crappy electric fan is more than adequate 90% of the time... maybe yours was broken?
i also have some twin leccy cossie fans en-route to suppliment this, i cant use 2.0 twincam ones as i have power steering and the fans foul the belt+pulley (i have 2 sets of twincam fans here)

, if so Jim get real, thats not man enough for the job, why ya think Ford fitted a viscous ya wally, that fan was only there to assist if the viscous couldnt cope, no way is it man enough to cool the engine on its own.

we all playing a game called "missing the fucking point completely"?
lets forget this thread shall we...
as here ive learnt that the experience ive had with my own car in the past is obviously wrong and i imagined it all... i mean i imagined the fact that the car ran 100% fine before the garage touched it, and i imagined the fact that that that electric fan IS sufficient (barely, but its still suficient) to do the job at hand
lets also imagine that i 1) took given advice 2) purchased new items to do the job properly (and overkill)

Jim, upon what expert technical basis do you make the assumption that your electric fan is adequate, only just, but adequate, now that statement sounds like it could have come from an engineer, are you an engineer? Do you have lots of practicle experiance in these kind of things?
Thought not, Ford do however, and if they fitted a viscous fan, then it is there for a reason, I mean, its ugly, as you said, however ford knew it was ugly, but left it there because it was needed. Jim removes it as he feels it isnt needed
.
Im no great fan of the taffy c0nts that live over the bridge, but its a bit harsh pinning the blame entirly for the fact your coolant isnt bled propperly? When you openly acknowledge your rad is blocked.
Sort it out Jim, I dont see ANYONE at all these days bothering to defend you, as its obvious to anyone your a complete dunse when it comes to car mechanics. Leavce it to the pros, and Jim, go and buy a normal car, 1.1 Fiesta for example and run it reliably every day for YEARS. Dont play with shit you cant afford to run anyway, yet alone with you tampering with it and casting your expert techincal experiance onto.

Dont be a bandit all your life

no im not an engineer, however i do know how to read a water temperature gauge
and no i didnt remove the viscous fan because it was ugly, taps is taking about another suplimentary fan which as std never kicks in till well after the cars already overheated n fooked, and has never worked on my car at all in std guise anyhow... i wired it in manually when my viscous fan was damaged beyond repair and i was unable to source a replacement and was v. surprised at how well it actually worked... its probably got something to do with the fact i properly flushed n bled the coolant beforehand and the cooling circuit was under very little strain.
the thing i find funny is that the car gets looked after a lot better than most... if something breaks... it gets fixed which is a lot more than i can say about most cars you see about. the difference is most people either keep quiet about any cockups, breakages etc. or know feck all about anything and dont even realise when things break...
once again thank you to the people whove taken the effort to explain about the minor rad blockage contributing to diffuculty during bleeding, its appreciated...
and to the people that jump on any little thing just to have a moan for the sake of it (as youre NOT justified in what you are saying)... fuck you...
