i always thought the S2 weighed 1020kg and the S1 920kg

Nobody quotes groos weight tho.

Its nominal kerb weight that all manufacturers etc class as a cars weight.

920 could be about right if it's being quoted as a nominal weight. I always thought it was closer to 980 though

yeah but the rs turbo doesnt have power steering, side impact protection, airbags, crumple zones, big interior panels, air con etc. creature comforts and toys all add weight!

CliffS1 had his S1 corner weighted after he removed the rear seats and fitted a 6 point bolt in safety devices cage, it weighed 969kg

i was always led to believe that they weighed in at around a tonne, 1050kg i think

In the 1990 ford broucher it states the weight of a 90's spec Escort RS Turbo to be 980kg

As ben said I had mine corner weighted at 969 kg with completely stripped interior, 6 point safety devices cage and Cobra Imola 2 (lightweight seats).

There's no way a S1 weighs as little as 920 kg
