He should see you as a connected device on his router.

I have been using my neighbours broadband wireless without them knowing for months now...

After leaving morpheous downloading and going away for a week it seems the neighbours have taken a disliking to me downloading all sorts of full length porn movies thru there connection......

Wireless has now disapeared!

Is there other way of searching for more with an external ariel etc???

Cheers

if he log's onto his router, he will see your mac address

though if he aint got a clue, he wont know what it is, unless you servely bring donw the speed of his internet connection..

Basically, if you can connect through his network, then you can access his PC. If you go through My Network Places, you should be able to go through his shared files. You won't be able to access his entire hard drive unless he's silly enough to share it.

Now, there are software applications that can monitor data transfer, and the number of users that are connected to your network.

My neighbour did the right thing and came round and told me his daughter's pc connected to mine by accident I said he can leave it if he want's to as she only surfs the net and won't take up much bandwith.

But blatantly hammering someone else's internet connection takes the right piss IMO. Fair enough he should have it secured, but he may not know how to do that.

And he pay's extra for a faster connection

How would you feel, if someone was raping your internet connection ?

Westy, you need to search for available wireless networks, then connect to them.

then id be setting 2 machines.

pc 1) to "talk" to your router, sending/recieveing packets of data
pc 2) to "sniff" the traffic being sent wirelessly and from that work out your WEP key

then id write it on a bit of paper and put it through your letterbox

WEP is NOT secure, will stop average mr bloggs, but anyone that really wanted to use your wireless, can AND will!

For those wanting to see what's on the neighbours PC then you'll need to go to explorer and then Tools -> Map network drive -> network domain dialogue box should then show available networks, yours will be one of them and there's will be another one. It's highly likely that they have no idea how to even share drives so you'll only be able to see their shared documents I'm afraid If not then go for your life lol!

Of course this would be hacking and therefore illegal

Andy
