I really wanna quit smoking and wanna know the best way.

I am far too weak to just throw a pack away and say thats it. Before 5pm I would be rooting through the bins again. Are thepatches or gum any good? Whats the crack with this hypnotherapy bollocks??

Cold hard turkley is how I gave up.. but then I am smoking again! I find smoking other stuff helps me give up the fags though!

i have had a couple of mates who went to see that Alan Carr hypnotherapy and they have stopped - used to smoke about 20-40 fags a day and burn weed on top.

Both of my mates now dont do anything except drink like a bunch of alcoholics now

im tryin to stop too but gonna have to try cold turkey - i know it can be done its just all in your head

i had been smokeing for about 28/29 years ... iam 43 old know ..

i got up 1 day in march, and some 1 told me it was no smokeing day, i have not had a fag from that day ..... you have realy got to whant to give up, not just talk about it, or it ant gonna happen m8.... but i wish you good luck if you do give it up,
becouse it is a killer..

Good luck to you. I have been fag free for just over 3 months, and i dont miss it one bit. the other half still smokes but he has to go out in the back garden now. the smell of smoke makes me want to heave. i started of using the patches, but then went on holiday and vanity stopped me from wearing a patch in the states, so took them off, but never looked back. the worst time for me was the first few days, i was MANIC my house had never looked so clean!!!!!!

as others have said if I can do it anyone can!

the hardest part is the first day, then you get thru that 24 hours and think " i can do another 24 hours" and so on and so on.
if you can stick out the first 24 hours you can do it!

Good Luck mate, it's not easy, but it's worth it in the long run.

I stopped smoking on the 3rd May this year,I tried everything nothing worked,the last resort was Hypnosis,I was very sceptical espeically when the cost was Ł250 for a 1 hour session BUT guaranteed to work
I paid the Ł250 and it was the best money I have every spent,not touched one since

Get a jam jar and put the contents of an ashtray in it including butts. Then fill jar halfway with water and put lid on the jar. Everytime you fancy a cigarette open the jar and take a deep sniff. The smell will put you off that fag

she now has given up with some support from me (been 2 years) ...without any other help

What i mean Cola is it is ignorant and unsociable to smoke a fag at the side of someone who doesnt smoke or wish to have to choke on it and shorten their life because of your bad habit. I know your not unsociable with the open invite etc ....but smoking in public places is imo.

And if I know there's a non smoker in my group I don't smoke near them. It's all about etiquette. My housemate Lorna is a smoker but woe betide anyone who lights up whilst she's eating. All goes back to treating people how you'd wanna be treated!
