When you say the front end you mean under the bonnet cos i would agree it looks scummy.
But standard one were like 300 so 160 for wheels and a turbo i could use on me V8 sounded like a worth while risk. Wonder what it will run like with some boost!

to be honest mate i wouldnt have bought that the shell looks rather tatty, for a 3.0 it has the wrong rad on too and its defo not a gen 3.0 shell when means it wont be as strong. but im sure you have your reasons for buying

which isnt there, besides the rad is of the 1.6 and 2.0 pinto engined capris, the batry tray is on the wrong side for a 3.0 and the power steering resevoir should be bolted on to the strut top not at thr front of the engine bay at a funny angle. just looks bodged together

I know in the picture's it's not but by the sound's of it he has put it back together
as he say's it now running with turbo working! which would not be possible
with all the pipe work missing so would assume now it's all there.
would be nice to see some pic's with it cleaned up and complete
i assume that's bird shit on the roof and dirt under bonnet

As it has got the triangulation between the inner wings and bulkhead (5th photo down on the LHS), it would appear to have started life as a 2.8 or 3.0 shell. The battery tray location says 2.8

its just an oil cooled garrett T3 mate, internal weastegate, different exhaust housing flange than cossies, more like the one on RSTs and so on, where they have a specific turbo elbow bolted on.
It SHOULD run even without the boost pipes. WHY wouldnt it?
Its on a single carb, without the pipes etc connected it will run just like a n/a car if its not fucked.
Its only cars with shit like metering heads and AFMs which wont run without pipes connected, MAP sensor cars like Cossies, and carbed cars like that Crapi will run even with all boost pipes removed.
If there pipes coming off the carb or inlet manifold that arnt connected to anything, they quite likely to need blocking up or connecting before the fucker will run tho.
