Default Great North Run - sponsors THANK YOU!!

Im having a go at doing the great north run this year - will be first attempt at doing any running. (apart from the odd bits and bobs of training ive done)

Im running on behalf of the breat cancer campaign (excellent cause in my opinion) and have pledged to raise a minimum of £350 I'm running a bit short at the moment and don't know how much success I'll have in getting the family to cough up more.

Click my sig below for my online sponsor page - and i'd be grateful of any donations - pence or pounds (they claim tax back and increase the donation with gift aid too! )

I haven't got any tearful or woeful stories to push you into feeling guilty and donating to charity - so I'll plead on your lazy nature - you don't even need to leave your seats to put it in a charity box - click the link below and help me help a good cause!!!

Also - 2 weeks to go - should I be caning it trying to get in some last minute fitness or taking steady so not to wear out beforehand?
any tips on doing the distance eating before after etc??? lol proper amatueur I was hoping for under 2 hours... but im now currently hoping to beat the guy in the deep sea diving suit!!

Thanks for reading (and donating !!)

So if you don't make the full £350 do you still do the run?

Have you got the company you work for to sponsor you yet?

I've got loads of people within the company to sponsor me.

The company won't do it indivually. (they'll sponsor local football teams etc but not individual one off events)

not sure what happens if I don't hit it - I think basically i'll have to make up the deficite or they'd never give me a place again! plus I signed that I would raise their minimum when I sent my confirmation.

i'm about £100 off at the moment.

cheers for your support!! (lol and I don't just mean holding me up )

I never drank yesterday!!!! I didnt touch a drop!! are you impressed?!!

i've sent my mother off to work with a sponsor form to rally round her friends. sent an email out this morning to random people in my address book see if anything comes of that....

im getting proper concerned now!! its not long away and I did some training over weekend last week and im killing!! lol and I only been doing half the distance!!

heard chris moyles on Radio1 on about the GNR - think one of them is doing it they were going by the theory of NOT doing any training so as to conserve energy for the actual event..... I reckon thats a SUPERB idea!!!

2 hours 23mins.

not very fast but most i've ran before is 10k!! (do 10k in about 50mins)

its quite addictive actually, I may keep it up and have another go next year.

Mind you, I dont think I did myself any favours the night before the GNR - stayed in amble in northumberland, quite a cool but strange place, and I wasnt very healthy and had fish and chips for tea with southern comfort and cokes to wash it down with.

should of had chicken, pasta, potatoes and plenty of water. but couldnt find any italians! so it hit me quite hard on energy when I got running.
