Default 3-Bar Map Sensor help - FAO Stu.......

Is there any reason why a car would have an appetite for Map Sensors??

I'm not talking heavy, but 1 every few months for example.

Its mounted upside down and the Engine is new.

Bad ecu earths on the inlet manifold can cause the map sensor to fail or if the HT
plug leads run too close to the sensor can cause ESD (electrostatic discharge)
killing it !

From my experiences too, Big boost pressures can destroy them quicker (>30 psi)
as they were only ever designed to be a 28 psi MAX sensor !!!!

Also, I remember "hearing on the grape vine" that weber had manufacturing
issues which may have caused tolerance problems leading to premature
failure or calibration drifting.

The body of the map sensor requires earthing on one of the mounting bolts...
