Default Zetec Turbo cams and headwork

im looking to build a new zetec turbo engine but need help with the top end. im unsure who to use for the headwork, and also what spec i will need, valve sizes etc as you see them listed as stage 1, 2, 3 etc.

where to send the head to get the work carried out? and cost?

i also know very little about cams, so some advice or recommendations on that front would be cool too

do you only need to upgrade the valve springs if going for a higher revving engine?

im aiming for 350+BHP with a similar torque figure

The spec i have in mind is : lightened and balanced standard crank and flywheel
ARP bolts
steel rods
8.2:1 C/R
tubular exhaust manifold
0.63 t34
Rover M16 inlet manifold
custom intercooler (triple 2wd cossie)

your best bet is get the head reconditioned and flowed, standard sized valves and you should see 340-350hp...rudey hit 320hp running standard head and cams with t34 but the head cracked so it was aborted...however it should now produce more power with a new head...

judging by that, im going for a flowed head and standard valves, IH cams, vernier pulleys, RS1800 inlet (for now) and undecided on turbo and hoping for similiar power figures to what your after...oh and you might wanna consider dropping the cr a little to make it a little safer

SOY, ran 366hp IIRC running big valve head and custom inlet...however his car never ran its full potential due to a few problems ive heard....could have gone 400hp+ but was running out of fuel according to Ian Howell

gaz your prob looking at about 2000...

low comp pistons - 500
steel rods - 600
rs1800 inlet
erst exh manifold - 25?
machining work to block - 100ish
t34 - 500
complete rebuild - 250

plus mapping plus injectors and labour

but just engine aint too much...ita the rest that adds it up lol

red16...i wud say 7.8 maybe less

Good advice there bassboy

MGSTU on here is pretty handy with Zetec heads, may be worth PMing him, has a flow bench etc

im currently building a 2.0l ZT

spec:

0.5mm oversize wiseco pistons 7.8:1 CR, may see if he will do em 7.2:1 CR yet, dunno.
Steel rods
prolly get a specialised engines stage 3 head (std valves i think?)
piper or kent cams
T34 with .63 housing
primary designs tubular manifold
S8
injectors - prolly get 750cc ones
might try and ge a focus RS inlet too

aiming for 350bhp

the cylinder should take a week forty hours there so much work in getteing the cvh head right, but mine took more like three he was fitting it around other work flow rate is 10% cfm less then a ported 16v zetec head
