as said most people swear by the geniune ford one on escort/fiesta turbo's

I've just replaced mine with genuine ford one.

(the felpro I took off didnt look in bad condition though in fairness)

what gasket was on there?

Felpro are fucking shite. Mine let go mid race with a Carrera 4

Ford gasket is considerably cheaper as well at about £30. Will not be using Felpro again. Ignore Burtons and PE

This forum is a wealth of knowledge and good advise. The people that are telling you Felpro are fine simply haven't used them and or just don't have a fucking clue.

ok, lets get this sorted.. iv used both felpro and ford payen, both have failed weather ther ford or felpro, the thing is everyone blames the head gasket but its not always the head gaskets fault>>> my last felpro lasted as long as my payen ford, now i phoned kenny up at m.s.d, the only people i trust sorry and karl kenny said felpro are classed as group A head gaskets and are fine now if m.s.d tell me felpro or fine thats all i neeed to here

at the end of the day believe what you want but as said iv used both and both have failed

i also have massive respect for kenny and what he says is right ..

mate no offence but there seem to be alot of 300bhp escorts about, last year they was all 250, the year before was 230 and then it was 200

also depends how ya drive, on a serious note if a gasket lasts in oranocos car then i recomend it as he spanks the living shit out of his car, not like most too, he just carrys on, was following him in his mums fiesta and i was doing 115 on the clock to attempt to keep up, this was from A12 M25 to A1/M25, he never backed off once either

oranoco didnt ya have a felpro in ya engine before it went a few months ago

im assuming ya head gasket has gone twice this year, what was in it before when i first met ya , id use one of them again deffo

the reason people say standard is casue there just as good but cheeper

You said in your first post the head is warped, so ANY gasket on there would have failed, so its not a condemning piece of evidence that the felpro one did.

But i still say listed to people on here and go for the ford one anyway.

But for gods sake make sure that both mating surfaces are perfectly flat

yeah i agree with chip-3door the main concern of head gaskets going is the heads distorting or or incorrect torque settings, and as said id stay with ford all the way i had a white s2 before the one ive got now, and dean at sheppards built me an engine low comp, mahle pistons,2wd cossy turbo,-31 paddle clutch and a bayjoo chip and STANDARD HEAD and that was it. It ran 22psi all day long on a ford gasket and never let me down at all! i wouldnt use anything else mate! do miss that car
