Default Rocker cover gasket advice.

Excuse me if I sound a bit thick here! Would a rocker cover gasket be under more stress thus more likely to leak oil if a car is driven fast/hard through the gears?

if the car is running at maximum heat where the oil is thinner gasket failure would normally fail due to its age or OTT extreme heat or simply poorly torqued

Thanks mate

Trying to work out why my 2003 Mondeo V6 2.5 is leaking oil from what I believe to be the rocker cover gasket.....Strange thing is when she is driven with ease there is no oil leak, hard driving and when I pull up smoke is coming from the back of the engine that smells of oil which makes me think it must be the rocker cover on the back part?

The oil will be hotter and thinner when the engine is driven hard. At high revs it will be throwing a lot more oil around too.

Maybe also an issue with a blocked breather and its pressurising the rocker box?

Just an idea, but staying with the breather theory, is there a breather pipe/filter etc with a split in it, which, with a bit of pressure, it's letting fumes/smoke out, but looking ok at first glance?

...I've no idea with V6 Mondeo's, so if I'm talking out my arse, feel free to say!!
