Default Starting an engine that's been sat for a LONG time?

Okay, so the time is here for me to attempt to start this car up - whoo hoo!!!!!!

The engine's been sat for a very long time (nearly three years) both in and out the car, and all the holes were adequately sealed, but I'm afraid a little moisture might have got in etc etc.............

Obviously gonna crank it over to get the oil round, but is it worth dropping a tiny touch of oil into the cylinders as well?

Any other recommendations?

I would turn it over by hand also. I have put a few drips down the bores previously just be a bit smoky on start up.

Get some fresh fuel and flush out the shite thats been in there 3 years (if it has!).

Prime the engine (oil down pipe)....

Then pull the phase sensor and crank her till you get oil pressure.

After that do a quick check that everythings not leaking and go for broke!

Expect a fair amount of smoke as the rings are likly to have sized in their grooves.

Hold the revs at 2-3k for 5-10 mins and everything should clear.

It will start and run like Forrest Gump! (i.e. limp and splutter to the end of the road )
