hold at about 3.5k/4k...

Dont boot it off as you'll just snake everywhere and have no traction, wait for late 2nd and 3dr gear for that

Take up the strain on the drivetrain before leting go... it will save something going bang (usually the wallet)

as nuts rus says load the drivetrain up first, i generally hold the car back on the handbrake slightly, so you dont get that initial shock going through the drivetrain HTH

all you advice was much appricated but looks like i blew a diff on my second run messed up the launch a bit but brought it back bit of tire screach into second but manged to pull it back with a 15.2@100.89 mph and my first run was 14.5@99.8 mph third run aborted before i even got to the line with a knocking diff still good fun and when i have the diff sorted i will go back and practice my launches and get some better times

It did yes, seems at the moment from what some peeps have said handbrake might have been stuck on

I know I fluffed the first gear change though too, but still gonna blame it on the handbrake
