Police have shot a suspected suicide bomber near a tube station in south London.
Marksmen opened fire near Stockwell Tube station as passengers were evacuated. It was not clear what the suspect's injuries were.
Passenger Briony Coetsee said: "We were on the Tube and then we suddenly heard someone say `get out, get out' and then we heard gunshots."
Sky News Crime Correspondent Martin Brunt said: "There is no word on whether he has been killed or simply injured."
If the suspect is confirmed to be a suicide bomber, it would mark the fifth attempted terrorist attack on London in less than a day.

some bloke is on the bbc saw it happen. Old bill unloaded 5 shots at him. He is 100% brown bread.
shame though we should keep them alive and torture them for the rest of their lives. Death is the easy way out for these sickos.

But so far, it does seem that they identified this guy (probably overnight from CCTV images) were following him and when challenged he tried to escape. He was also wearing a puffa jacket which is a bit much in the temps we've had today.
And the plain clothed police are generally the better ones.

The person in question ought to be grateful - he got to meet Allah early and score some extra time with more virgins! If only they'd all queue up to be shot!
I read a quote from the Muslim council of GB saying they were concerned about this man being shot dead and wanted to know all the details. I dont see the Pope calling up all concerned. If they were a bit more diligent in keeping their lot in order then they shouldnt have anything to worry about.
No more PC - gloves off and lets let the lead fly!

However far too many people take PC to the extremes. Imagining people being upset over things they wouldnt be. Some people dont say "Black" to describe an Afro Caribbean person for fear of upsetting them. But the correct term is Black.
Or people trying to ban books on WW2 because it might upset some German teenagers. Not like the german people dont know what happened in those 6 years. 
Or my favourite at the moment. Kids Sports Days being replaced with team games and there being no winners or loosers. Just "deferred success"

Police wouldn't have shot him without a damn good reason, I'm in the forces and we operate under the same system. As people have already said, if he was runnig from armed police and failed to comply with instructions, he was bound to be a bomber 
Oh and political correctness is absolute bollox, its pure spin, and all is does is confuse and divide people T.B.H in this day and age in britain, it dosn't matter what colour or creed you are, or what religion you follow as long as you respect others, you wont have a problem, its the tossers tryin to ban xmas/ enland flags etc that cause problems I'm sure indians/ americans/ japaneese don't get offended when they see a union jack Be proud of who you are and where you come from
