Default PASSION FORD - MEMBERS INSURANCE DISCOUNT SCHEME

Enhanced Passion Ford Members scheme from Greenlight Insurance

Call 01277 263030 or visit www.greenlightinsurance.com for a quote.

As most of you will already be aware, Greenlight have successfully piloted a Passion ford Insurance scheme over the last year and have taken on board the comments of Passion ford members that have contacted us for a quotation or taken out policies with us during this time. Then used your feedback to improve both our infrastructure and that of your scheme.

The Passion Ford members scheme that we piloted last year has performed well, which has allowed us to expand the panel of underwriters for the Passion Ford scheme.

In practice, more underwriters equates to more competition and better premiums or terms for members.

Why choose Greenlight -What are greenlight able to offer?

1) We have a decent level of technical knowledge for performance, modified, custom & kit built vehicles

2) We offer Competitive premiums with further discounts for Passion ford members (this discount is available to all members - pilot scheme & existing clients automatically receive and continue to recieve the scheme discount)

3) We understand the vehicle enthusist mentality

4) We like to cover modified vehicle drivers, our view is very much that if you are spending money to improve your vehicle it demonstrates that you keep your vehicle in good order and clearly care for your vehicle.

5) You CAN disclose all modifications and we can accommodate anything up to and including full roll cages and nitrous oxide,

6) Our underwriters offer ‘like for like’ replacement of modified parts for repairable instances and where possible, or an equivalent substitute part will be offered.

7) We are Performance vehicle specialists and as such look to cover performance models, as with modified vehicles we like the element of pride and care that goes with a performance vehicle – our premiums will reflect this.

8) We are able to offer Motorsport cover for rally vehicles

Basic acceptance criteria

Due to our only covering performance or modified vehicles, the underwriters require all drivers to be aged 21+ with a full UK license for at least 12 months.

Postcode – if you feel your area may be high rated it may be better to contact us via the telephone, rather than us the online quote facility.

Greenlight & excluded postcode area’s
we recognised following our pilot of the Passion Ford Member scheme that there were postcode areas that we were unable to offer cover for under the single scheme. There will still be postcode areas that we can’t cover, but when sourcing further underwriters we have expanded the postcode areas that our underwriters are able to cover.

Historically underwriters have continued to write business and subsidised the poor performing areas by increasing premiums within the better performing areas to offset. These days, in the competitive market that exists and to maintain competitiveness underwriters choose to adopt a different stance. They have cut any subsidies to poor performing areas to concentrate upon and be more competitive in the area’s that have consistently perform well

To update
This post is to give everone an update as to scheme improvements here and to welcome you all to Greenlight Insurance.

Kind regards

Hi Chop,

Glad to hear that this was well timed.

Just call 01277 263030 (& ask for Neil) or visit www.greenlightinsurance.com to get a quote under the new scheme.

We did our research in Piloting Passion Ford before, went away did the number crunching, took onboard what members thought and now have launched an improved scheme.

If you think there is anything else we can improve, let us know - were listening.

You mentioned Neil, he is probably the best person to speak to here. His technical knowledge is very good and he has modifed every vehicle that he has owned.

Neil has both the authority and ability to assess and rate risks and would be a good contact to call.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Westy,

It's good news on the LU5 postcode mate, one of our additional underwriters under the scheme covers LU5.

Your postcode, along with quite a number of the other previously excluded postcodes are catered for by the additional underwriters that we were able to attract following the succesful pilot of the Passion ford scheme.

We can offer a quote providing you meet the other criteria from that underwriter (ie. no death by dangerous driving conviction or running over bus queues).

Thanks for thinking of us...

Kind regards

Tony

Thanks

Hi Ran,

Sorry we couldnt help you over the last couple of years buddy, our new scheme has only just gone live from yesterday and we now have a panel (rather than just one) underwriter covering the scheme.

We piloted last year to gather information and start a track record that would allow us to develop the scheme, we will continue to do this and improve the members scheme as we go. But with a track record in place we were able to add Insurers and strengthen the panel.

Insurance is a legal requirement and nobody likes paying it (even some Insurance people ), but it also protects your pride and joy, plus your pocket if through a momentary lack of judgement you bump into someone, or even worse some muppet steals your car .

Our approach is different in as much as buying from Greenlight, you are buying from people who understand and are as keen on cars as you. Talking to Greenlight should be like talking to your mates about your car, but also buying Insurance.

Kind regards

Tony

I have just renewed with Greenlight, luckily my mods didn't scare them off!! That might be due to my advanced years!!

Im over the moon with the prices and Greenlight have been a pleasure to deal with so far!

My only concern is the Valuation side and that may be something that worries others? Maybe you guys can clear that one up?

Hi Davey,

We are able to offer classic policies for vehicles such as mk1 or mk2 Escorts, or some series 1 RS Turbos.

However, our underwriters do not view classic cars as a cheap way of covering heavily modded or high performance vehicles. If you can get an Insurer that does this it will not be for long.

This aside, we are competitive, will do everything we can to help you and do take the vehicle age into account when calculating rates.

So, log on or call us to give us a try!

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Chris/Beccy,

Many thanks for your kind words

I can spout on about my company, you'd expect that. But when happy customers endorse the scheme it shows you from their side how they feel.

We are not scared of mods, we welcome and even encourage vehicle modifications .

With regard to vehicle valuations our underwriters stance would be as follows:

In the case of a repairable vehicle all modified or after market parts will be replaced with identical parts as long as they are still commercially available. If they are not, the underwriter would either provide you the cash value or offer you a replacement of a similar value.

Should the vehicle be stolen or written off, the underwriters would employ a qualified motor engineer to take all evidence into account when valuing the vehicle.

There are fellow members on here that have been paid decent valuations for their vehicles following total loss. It's a bit difficult to highlight due to data protection, but the most prolific of these was Bruce Read who sadly lost his vehicle due to theft. Our underwriter recognised the RS500 for what it was, assessed the vehicle enhancements (modifications) and made a decent offer.

Dont forget, you are not alone when dealing with this. Greenlight act as your agent and will work with you to obtain the best possible settlement (one way or another ) that we can from your Insurer for your vehicle.

I hope this helps..

Kind regards

Tony

PS. Many thanks once again for the kind words

Hi Cola,

Tell "Laddo" that he would need at least 1 years no claims bonus and need to be over 21 for us to consider quoting an Escort Cossie for him.

Thanks for drumming up other business to support the members scheme.

Mike,

Shhhhhhhhh.... keep it down, someone will hear you

We do run a specialist scheme for some of the VBOA (Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association) member clubs, which included the Vauxhall performance Car Club (now VXLSCC), so i'm confident that we can still help.

Pop a quote online at www.greenlightinsurance.com or give Neil a call on 01277 263030 and we should help.

Kind regards

I'm with Greenlight for both my cars and I have been for a while now.

I can thoroughly recommend them, they are very helpful and their prices are competitive too.

It's nice to find an insurance company that welcomes the drivers of modified and high performance cars. To be fair this website is full of enthusiasts that drive their cars more carefully than the majority of other road users in my opinion!

S'ok Mike,

We can use the scheme as it is designed for Vauxhalls and I will explain to the underwriter that you are an enthusiast.

This often happens when people change cars, they also switch clubs - you're just a loyal bloke sticking with Passion Ford.

I'm sure we can help buddy.....

Ive been thinking of explicitly covering my 3 door, its just on my trade policy at the moment.

Thing is though, although every single part of the car is cossie spec or higher, its a 1.6GL according to the logbook as its been reshelled into a 1.6GL shell, and only legal way to do so is to keep the 1.6GL identity.

It owes me about 10 grand now, but im sure the RSOC would value it at about 20pence as it doesnt have an RS logbook, so where would i stand for an agreed value policy on a such a bastardised vehicle?

Im 30, rural postcode, and full no claims

Don't think they do mate although it doesn't specifically say in the 'Modified Car Insurance Quote' section but does in the 'Japanese Import Car Insurance' section.

I've been to Belfast and Coleraine a number of times and would love to cover Northern Ireland.

The problem that we have is that our underwriters will only cover the province by using brokers that are located in Northern Ireland , so we are unable to assist .

Sorry

I will sing Greenlights praises from the rooftops as i had a brilliant quote off them for my 3DR and i have passed there number on to a fair few peeps who ask for GOOD insurers

Glad to see you have got yourselves a banner for this site as it will be worth its weight in gold to your company
