The worst Car event ever...................hows that?!?!?!?!?!?!
I have never been to a more disorganised or poor spectator event yet
The drifting was interesting, some good and some just truly shcoking.
And the time trial, which is what we all went for................i mean all them quick cars racing around a track........... how cool?????
Well you could see none of it as a spectator what was the point it would of been easier to be a closed door event.
The only benifit was, that because the event was so poorly set up we did not have to pay an entry fee.

Ive just got back in. I agree it wasnt the best of events, but it certainly wasnt 100% crap either.
I have to say, i was quite disapointed with the supposed best ever Jap drivers that had come over to do a display.
I think the rain didnt help much either...
Last times i heard was Gareth Lloyd was in #1, Rocket Ronnie was about 12th with a good 6 seconds off the pace!
Ive got about 160 photos, no idea how im going to post them all lol

Was the reason for the spectating being substandard due to the fact that from the stands, the infield circuit is obscured by the Pit garages and spectator area above?
Was there not access to the spectating area above the garages/pit area?

The time attack started on the right hand side, right were the stand ends. So at best you could watch them take off, but they then disappered down a slope and off to the back of the circuit , and then suddenly re-appeared in front of the pit area.

when we left gareth was in 1st place. his times were 3 seconds quicker than the 2nd place car.
sean was 1st in the rwd class as well in his exige
the spectating area for the handling circuit was non existent. you could only catch a glimpse of the handling circuit far away in the distance
i don't think i'll bother going next year as it was not really a spectator event for the handling circuit which was supposed to be the main event of the day
the only good point of the day was the jap pro d1 drivers
p.s i know it was only the 1st year for gt battle so maybe they can improve things for next time!

Just got home, didn't stay till the end, have to agree with the comments above, however, had the weather been better (nothing the organisers can fix), the spectating area in the middle would have been busier.
I was disappointed by the fact that we bought tickets, but apparently, you could wander in with nothing, and the signage was not very good - nothing said we could go into paddock area, there were two traders area (one in the paddock), it's lucky I found OPIE who I had ordered oil from.
Oh well, at least the company was great
Some pictures to follow

Yes, it was cold.
Yes we had to get up at stupid o'clock to get there.
And ok, it could be improved...especially the ticket handling bit, and the spectator area...
But the drive there was way fun as we had a real nice convoi from Mimms services
Racing.... what racing????
And it was nice to see the people we hadn't seen in a lil while... like last weekend!!
So its not all that bad!!

Yep, got a text from a mate who is/was there, he left from glasgow at 7am this morning, and had been to the GTbattle, and left for home by 4pm
Said it was wank, spectators could see nothing, weather was piss, and it was generally very badly organised
Pretty poor show by the sounds of it, considering the hype it got anyway..

PS: did anyone witness the accident on the M1 Southbound, not far off the M25 exit ? A people carrier was on the hard shoulder and looked like it had got onto its roof once or twice before landing there
Thankfully no one looked seriously hurt as we drove past.

Same as my mate said..... massive hype for a total waste of time effort and money.
I think some members of Pf had something to do with the organisation so feel guilty posting
Shame really as the idea in theory sounded good - he just said it was being held in the wrong place, as the idea should be for spectators to at least be able to see something.
He said he'll be writing asking for his money back under trade descriptions act as their website said that it has "first class views of all the action" with "9 hours of excitement".
Shame

Well, people should give them a chance, especially if it was the first year (hadn't realised that... )!
At least it means it can't get worst and can only get better!! And if things were perfect the first time, there would be no scope for improvement!!
