it was worth the entry fee alone to see the cossies kick jap ass,
from both of the right hand stands you could see most of the time attack action very clearly. the main problem is people who dont want to sit in windy drizzle and watch a majestic display from the cossies.
i on the other hand spent 3 hours in windy drizzle and am not dissappointed at all. i saw what i paid to see.
my only gripe is the fact that no 0-60 times were attempted on the main straight as stated in the program.
anyone who truly loves motorsport would not have walked away unhappy

dont know official times or the full list ,sorry, i think gareth did a 1 minute 8 second lap, where i was sitting there was no cover on the stand and not very good speakers, NOT THAT I WOULD HAVE HEARD MUCH ANYWAY WITH THOSE STUPIDLY LOUD DODGE VIPERS.... sorry lol
judging from the performance of the cars id say adrians fensport corrolla would have pushed gareth very hard on the day, i think he did a 1.12 shortly before my eardrums were shattered by the viper

ok It was cold and you couldnt see to much track in the morning.... but when they opended up the full track for the semis and finals of GT battle everyone and I mean everyone was on track at the same time ie RC evo, Norris, Lloyd, Ronnie, Kiddel, fensport, Reyland etc etc FAN FUCKING TASTIC That trully made the day for me your really saw who was quick and who wasnt
Drift stuff was interesting not really my bag but those jap guys were wicked
Gareth Llyod is leagues ahead weapon indeed
RC Developments didnt even make the final
Well organised clean and tidy venue IMO a HIT I will be back next year
and an RS won top day all round

Point taken on all these points.
But do you not think they could of written it somewhere or made it more noticeable that the full track would be open later????
I would have stayed through wind/rain or snow if i knew that was happening
I even asked about 10 marshalls and all of them said mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm nope duuurrrrrrrrrr hot dog van that way >>>>>>>
As people have said, can only get better

I thought it was a good day overall.
It needs improving (organisation wise) but then it was the 1st year - im sure it'll be better next time.
And yes whoever left early did miss the best stuff!
Was watching the finals from the pits

Well all those moaning about not being able to see anything, should have gone and sat in the grandstands. Jen braved the weather up there and could see everything. She was even able to see where all the fast cars were braking and only one bend of the whole qualifying was obscured.
Anyone that tried to see the event from the top of the paddocks is a bit thick, as it simply wasn't a high enough vantage point .
Anyway, a quick run down of the final scores on the doors.
1st Gareth Lloyd - Ecort Cosworth 1.30.xx
2nd Andy Barnes - Sumo Skyline R34 1.33.xx (I think)
3rd No idea Porche 911 GT3RS 1.33xx
4th Dan Lewis (AKA Renton) - Reyland Sierra 1.33xx (how quick is that car and driver ? )
5th Simon Norris - Evo 8 1.36.xx
6th Kev Atkins - Evo 6 1.36.xx
7th No idea RK Tunning R32 - 1.36.xx
8th Not sure
9th Not sure
10th Not sure
11th Me 1.37.xx
12th Not sure
13th Sean Bicknell - Exige 1.41.xx
14th Not sure
15th Not sure
I'm sure someone can fill in the blanks . At one point I knocked Ronnie off 2nd spot in the qualifying, at which point I was praying for the heavens to just open up, but instead the track dried out, which meant the big guns could now start shooting their load . I finally finished 12th in the qualifying, which saw ne in the above finals.
Well pleased, as I drove my car there and drove it back. All of the above cars were stripped out track cars trailered to and from the event . That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it .

AJ,
Not bad for a shonky 450bhp Ford . Considering the weight and power deficit that I was giving a way to everyone bar Sean, I am well pleased with how the car performed .

Bill,
You've just reminded me . Actually, make that 420bhp, as I was only running on position 10, as Corby hasn't got a Shell garage to it's name, and I had to fill it with BP (not very) Ultimate which is only 97 RON, and it didn't like running full boost with that .
Regarding your comment, I would refer you to my spec list in the gallery which explains the power figure .

Can't beleive you lot thought it was a bit pants!
Just got in as had a 'few' problems on the way home...!
I thought the day on the whole was fantastic, maybe because it was the first event of it's type in the UK and I was already excited about it taking place and attending
Am so pleased that all of our Ford boys (and Sean ) did so well, that was the highlight of my day really! Drifting was ok, thought the Sumo powered cars sucked all day really - not keen on them, and the 2 'special' drift cars with Japanese Drivers did nothing for me!
Only thing I thought was a major let down was the bloody weather, bit I still braved it and enjoyed the day!
Ok so some of the handling track was not totally visible, and the drifting was very stop/start, but Rockingham as a venue far made up for this, it was clean, all still like new and a great place to be!
Finally, I'd like to say a massive well done to Mike, Paul, Sean and Renton etc who I thought did wicked against the Jap boys, really enjoyed watching you guys go round, and the final with the top 20 cars out was fookin brilliant!
Mike, never new your car was so well balanced and such a good all-rounder! It's the first time i've seen most of you guys out with your cars and wanted to come and say hi, and have a look at the cars, but wasn't allowed in the paddock for drivers etc (was also gonna try and blag a ride! )
Top Day IMO

Just to point out that my comments were made from a mate who went - I didn't actually go. He's 19 and has good eyesight but said you could see nothing of any interest close up.
Well done to Mike 11th O/A is a great result and you have every right to be happy. But do you have to strip it out and start saving for one of them factory boxes now then to get any higher ? I thought it was going to be split into classes ? So I guess out of the road going class you finished first - well done
Was that Lee's car in 4th O/A then with Renton driving
