Default clicking noise (escort cosworth)

Hellp!!
My car has developed a clicking noise coming from the N/S front wheel area. The car has a slight wobble through the steering at around 65mph but gets worse when going round bends on the dual carrigeway, usually right hand ones.

Could this be a sign of a wheel bearing being on its way out or a fooked CV joint?

To start with i just put it down to the front wheels needing balanced but then i was driving down a narrow road with high walls on either side and i heard this clicking noise

Anyone else had the same with there Escort Cosworth or 4x4 Saff?

Your hellp is appretiated as always

Thanks

Paul.

Sounds just like what I just had: failed wheel bearing. Steering wobbling round corners, worse under braking, plus all sorts of odd noises. Turned out it was busy welding itself to the hub, so that needed replacing as well

I had this happen at the Nurburgring (luckily just on the last few corners ). Turned out to be the wheel nuts had worked loose .

Deffo gets worse under braking!!

Will check all the wheel nuts tonight and if that dosent cure it then i will have to look at the bearings.

dont fancy having to replace the hub this early on into ownership

Also check that the hub nut that holds the bearing in place hasn't come lose, as this will cause the same symptoms...

Wheel nuts all tight
Driveshaft nut is tight as well (16+stone on my 24" breaker bar and it didnt move)

Clicking noise is still there Guesing its the wheel bearing so might have to pull it apart this weekend and stick a couple of new ones in. (routine maintenance)

Put my stereo in tonight as well so at least i wont hear the clicking driving to work tomorrow
