Awesome car. A spec that is just off the charts and it looks soooo cool. AND more importantly he uses it properly!

I translated the spec to English, doesn't make much sense and he doesn't list much on it either. It's supposedly up for sale at the moment.

Tight git . Just put your hand in your pocket .

Custom inlet manifold capable of exceeding 700bhp. Ideal for use with our 1000cc injectors. The OE inlet manifolds are limited to the following bhp (in the main due to the restrictive elbow NOT the throttle body, which will comfortably flow 650+bhp), 2wd = 430bhp 4x4 = 450bhp EECIV = 500bhp. This manifold removes the restrictive elbow, and due to it's unique design, it has been flow tested and at 2 bar of boost there is only a 2% disparity accross the cylinders. This is considerably better than the OE manifold. The engine MUST be live mapped with this manifold to deal with the extra air at all rpms this can give with the correct turbo. The plenum cover is pressed to it's shape and only welded to the plenum frame. It can be drilled for a standard throttle body or our 3" throttle body. Comes complete with a beautifully crafted throttle bracket (see gallery for picture), plenum gasket and throttle body gasket, bolts for plenum, throttle body and fuel-rail (please state whether 2wd or 4x4 fuel rail when ordering), sealing washer for brown air charge sensor, 1m x 9 mm hose with clamps for vacuum take-off distribution block, connections and vacuum rail with five 4 mm connectors for vaccum and one blank plugg (if only 4 are used).

Even a Welshman like you could avoid the necessary £380 - look at the beautifully crafted throttle bracket it comes with (in the gallery) .

Gareth, it's a bit harder than you may think, I made a few things out of carbon fibre for my motocross bike and it was a bastard. I still got there in the end, but you will never get a quality finnish like that from the Pro's. Do you have all the equipment you need? Product's like this really do need to be vacuum formed mate.

Alloy, thanks mate

yes mate,,, have most of the stuff i need,, once i finish my model,, its going to be vacuum formed in a place in bridgend,, found them on yell.com

i could of used pre preg,, as i have a auto-clave in work (even though an auto-clave is really the same of the locking mech on the front of a vacuum furnace- little crap fact for you there)

welll see how i get on

Hope all goes well, but be warned, when something turns out good, you WILL want to make everything out of carbon - I even contemplated making my whole YZ125 carbon lol joking.

Serious though, it can be very hard stuff to work with, but it's well worth the effort when it comes out right.

Good luck and keep us informed on your progress please.

Gareth, I've still to actually make something out of Carbon. I've got the mould done, but need to prep it. It would be good to share our findings.

I hate it when people accuse others of being "tight" because they wont pay for someone else to build them something, and that they must be "DIY"ers for having a go themselves!

There are a lot of very experianced engineers out there who are more than capable of making an inlet manifold up, and having seen some of Gareth's fabrication on his car, he is one of those, so fairplay for giving it a go

Phil,
I have no problem with someone that goes out, designs something from scratch and then builds it, it's just them tight gits that want to COPY a design, rather than doing the R&D themselves - in my mind, that is not the same as what you are suggesting .
