Hands up if you are a tight git

Mike, I think a proviso should be added to your comment. I agree with you if the copy was then reproduced and sold for the benefit of the copier. One off DIY is fine in my book. At the end of the day, it is doubtful that us DIYer's get it right first time even if we are copying so the outlay and effort will probably run to the cost of buying the original, but thats not the point. Its interesting and fun to do, and we have nothing better to do with our spare time.

Ask me in October and I'll probably have a different opinion as I will have zero spare time

Paul Eggleton,

i bought these of marcus,, and they are the bollox,, thats what gave me the idea to have a go myself

mike,, if i had an engine dyno,,, i would do ALOT of r&d work,,,but i havent i also think its more impressive to building something yourself,, even if you havent designed it (even though,, i gotta design a way of making it ) then going out and just paying for things check book tuner

thanks for the kind workds people,,, will do a nice right up if it comes out nice,,, if its gash,,,, you wont hear another bean from me

Gareth,
When I first saw the pictures load up, I thought you were going to say that "I made these earlier" and I was about to eat my words and apologise (if you could do thinks to that standard). I then read your post and saw that you recognised quality when you saw it and actually stuck your hand in your pocket that time . Personally, I think (as Paul has done) you would have been better off attempting these and buying a plenum - not the other way round.... There are no consequences of making a hash of cosmetic bits (unless they're that bad, they chewed up tha cambelt ), you get the plenum wrong and feed too much air to one cylinder and its engine .

I personally think its a very viable proposition....ive even bought the book Gaz ...I need a centre panel and new foot rest making and i'm sick of chasing the bloke who is doing for me so i've thought about doing it myself.....you sound like you have the right equipment and i can't see why it wont work...

Best of luck

Gareth,
No THIS is "patronising" .

I was just ensuring you were aware of the consequences of getting it wrong . In future, I'll let peeps just get on with it .
