Default Forged?

Right guys, long story short, I bought the st that has had forged pistons n rods, the car has receipts for all the work done by devil developments.
ive spoken to them to confirm and they have updated there hole system and lost all history. so can’t pull up any history of any works carried out on any car up until the start of this year, which is fair enough, he said if it’s got receipts, it’s pretty much been done mate,

ive been under the car and it has a 2.5” cat back exhaust, was sold to me stating is a full 3” system. From the dealer.

the car had a standard cat on it, the dealer then sent me the decat for the car through a courier as he needed cat on it for mot and didn’t chNge it over again.

im wondering if the previous owner has switched out the engine for a standard block and sold the car with the receipts of the work which had been done on the built engine. Tomorow I have a mechanic coming around to look down the spark plug gaps with a endoscope to see if the piston are actually forged.

what will I be looking for to confirm if my theory is correct,

I might be paranoid but I need to know as it’s doing my head in.... thanks in advance

You would be better whipping the sump off rather than going down the bore with the scope mate ..you'll see the rods and pistons better.

even easier would be to remove the block breather.. 3 8mm bolts and you should be able to see the rods

I just thought the sump will show you both rods and pistons, the breather will show you the rods and the bore scope the crowns of the pistons that maybe black and hard to tell .. which ever way , good luck 👍

Check the engine number if you can - although that's quite tricky on a Mk2 Focus without a ramp.

Looking down the bore can be hard to work out if it has forged pistons, as something like a Wiseco looks a lot like a standard Mk2 RS piston from the top.

Your pick a full system up second hand on Facebook. I got a 3inch down pipe. A 200 cell sport cat and full mongoose system cheap.

I wouldn't say they are Wiseco pistons but don't look standard either so should be good.
