End of year fleet overview
Thought I would do a complete vehicle update, a sort of "what's in the garage" with some small updates and plans for next year so here goes:
Going to start with technically my wives car although it's the car I drive the most as it would be fair to say that it is our main car. A Peugeot 107
Next is the work horse and tow car. A Landrover Freelander 2
Next is my daily runabout. A Focus mk1 estate 1.8 tdi which now has a set of st170 wheels fitted
Then we have the Focus st170 in blue print. See thread "st170 number 2 and 3" The car is in the body shop at this moment getting it ready to go on the road. Thinking of selling it at some point next year
.
On to the first of the project cars. A Focus mk1 track car see thread " mk1 focus (mis) adventure " will need to go somewhere to set up the ecu and get it running and I am already working on an engine upgrade
Next is the Sierra sapphire. See "sierra sapphire 1.8 osfdc?" the rear axle swap is almost complete and I plan to order parts soon to enable the engine swap
On to the escorts. First is the replica see " Replica escort cosworth wrc style " I need to replace the back axle, I have a beam and arms which need some attention and I will need to buy another diff, it also has an engine but only temporally, progress of sorts?
Last is my Escort Cosworth see " Escort Cosworth ex rally car " It has spent the last 8 years in the garage on a trolley, earlier this year I collected my 6 degree rear beam and planned to get it to a rolling stage, did not happen but must next year.
Last is the bike, a Honda cbr1100xx Blackbird. Unfortunately I came off it during the summer and it is going to need some time and money spent before it can be ridden again
Going to try and get the bike, focus track car, sierra and escort replica running and useable next year and get the Cosworth out of the garage and get its suspension fitted, I have most of the parts and the ones I don't have are easy to obtain so its probably achievable, going to be a busy year.

Wow that is plenty of projects.
mine,
The daily, it’s been a great budget warm hatch but I am board with it and it’s hard as nails on the shit Linc’s B roads. Thinking of replacing it with a Mondeo 2.5t. And a tow bar.
The toy.
They count as Fords with out rust. I took it off the road 14 months ago for a 6 month max engine change lol. It should be on the road for Easter with the turbo Zetec and some carbon fibre. A summer of fun, a couple of proms and a few shows and it’s got to go for the new toy. Notice my head 4” above the roll bar lol
The new toy.
the fatboy of the 7esq world. Bigger than your average bear with an engine bay big enough to swallow a Dodge Viper v10 as per a member on here.
Current plan is a Duratec30.
And the obligatory 2 wheels.
I was a mad scooterist as a kid. I gave them up for a long while out of protest of travelling 50 miles for a meet and every one else turning up in cars because it was a little chilly. I had several bikes upto 1000cc but gave them up due to ridding like a knob.
I bought one of the last 2t scoots made before the eu out lawed them. It’s handy for a back up for work but I don’t have the love for it like I did as a kid. 500 miles in four years.
far right

That has been a problem in the past, doing lots of hours at work meant I could buy parts but had no time, tried to do quicker projects which made it worse. Last year I was forced to do less hours at work which has reversed the situation, now its just deciding what to do first.

This is what’s occupying my garage and spare time at the moment
This car is a keeper. Had a total loss a couple of years ago and my mum loaned me the money to by it and she passed away 4 months later. Couldn’t part with it now after that

Ok it is no exaggeration to say that 2020 was a very difficult year but what happened to the cars?
The Pug and Land Rover are still the main cars and we are very happy with them, the little Peugeot went down to the New Forrest most weekends during the summer and is great for what I need it for and with the Land Rover being a great tow car and able to be used and abused without worrying about damaging it I think I will be keeping them for some time yet.
The focus estate failed it's m.o.t on too many holes in the drivers side outer sill. Could not justify spending lots of money on it for the amount the car was being used but also could not scrap it, so I ended up buying a welder and replaced the sill myself and with new handbrake cables and a battery it passed the m.o.t and was then sold. I hope the new owner gets at least a year of good service from it and I now have a welder for use on the other cars.
The sierra died during it's m.o.t. the engine stopped during the test and could not be restarted and had to be recovered from the garage, found later to be a fuel block and is running again. Waiting for better weather before trying again with a test.
After spending lots of money on the st170 getting it tidy I took it for an m.o.t. which it failed badly, both outer sills were rotten along with the rear inner wheel arches and lots of other items including a worn steering rack. If I was going to keep the car I would have repaired it but I was not going to spend the time and money only to sell it so this car is now scrap. I have been removing parts from it for my other cars and when I have all the useful parts the shell will go to the scrap man.
Both escorts did not get worked on although some parts were purchased.
The track focus has been the beneficiary of some of the st170's parts, the engine, wiring and ecu, front suspension etc.
At the beginning of the year there was a new arrival which has also been getting st170 parts
The motor bike is still broken and in my mothers garage, the parts to repair it need to come from China
Plans for 2021 have to be quite small, would like to get the focus rs on the road, get the track focus on a track and repair the sierra
