Default HELP - S2 Rough Running at 2k

Just been out in the motor and there seems to be a developing problem with it....and I've got to drive it 200 miles tommorrow from Heathrow to Goole so the last thing I want is it to break down!!

Since I had it tuned at Well Lane when coming off the throttle then back onto it slightly its very jerky

But now under constant cruising throttle at 2k the cars jerking back and forth all over the place!! If you rev it at standstill to 2k you can here its not running correctly Almost like its on 3?

Also if I boot it...then back off...then onto throttle again I get a pop out of the exhaust which doesn't usually happen

Only thing I've done differently with it this week is short journeys <2 miles every day which I don't usually do.

ANYONE ANY IDEAS?????????????//

Dizzy cap, lead breaking down, plug breaking down. Start with these bits as they are simple and cheap to change and can be ruled out then

Could the plugs be oiled up after a week of a 2 mile run in the morning and night and nothing else for a week?

Not impossible mate. Start there though as they are cheap places to look for problems.

The car had brand new plugs fitted at the RR tune about 2 months ago so it shouldn't be those?

I also add that when I drive the car hard up to 6k there are no problems at all...just cruising at 2k. Does the above still apply

yeah I have a fair bit of oil in my boost pipes, suspecting turbo seals, but the TPS was swimming in it last time it was taken off.

Faulty TPS will cause popping on ovverun etc - get a ohm meter and make sure its working OK (important this is OK as as well as coasting fuel cut it also brings in the wide open throttle enrichment so you could run lean on boost if its had it).

Also could be your dizzy, mine did that once, jerking about etc when the dizzy hall effect sensor was dieing - whats your rev counter doing when its jerking?

Rev counter is bouncing up and down a little (up and down 400rpm)...how do I go about checking the sensors??

The TPS is the sensor on the throttle isn't it...I'll have a nose about

start checking all hoses for air leaks (could cause fluctation in idle rpm)

HT leads, spark plugs, dizzy cap etc
