Default Smoke coming from engine?!

I think this is in the correct section.....If not sorry, Mods please feel free to move to correct section.

My Mondeo 2.5 V6 2003 smokes fairly heavy after driven hard, if driven with ease then its ok with no smoke at all. The smoke is coming from the back of the engine and smells of oil. If driven fairly hard and I come to say some traffic lights I can see light amounts of smoke coming out of the bonnet from the windscreen end......Any ideas to what this could be on this engine? Think the same engine was used in the MK2 Mondeo ST200 and Cougar if that may help with people in the know about these engines.

Could it be oil leaking on to a hot exhaust?

Split pipe leaking oil on something hot as said exhaust more than likely. Get it looked at before it bursts into flames. That will only get worse
