Default Bosch 044 Pump Prices ?

Something a bit different but as these are normally found under a cossy I thought i'd ask here.
Am in need of 2 Bosch 0580254044 fuel pumps for my old Datsun
Been looking on the net at new prices for these pumps but the prices seem to be all over the place.
Seen them from £80 to £180 and all supposedly all genuine Bosch pumps ??
So does anyone know who's doing the best deal on new 044 pumps and are 100 genuine
ta

i was wary when buying an 044, so many "genuine" bosch ones on eBay etc that are prob going to be fakes!

For peace of mind i bought from motorsport developments, think it was £150 and was with me in no time!

Default genuine

there are a few good guides about identifying the fakes[if they really are fakes and not just manufactured in different places lol] very intresting topic, like the walbros that can fail too-and they are supposedly genuine ones..

Yea google, there are plenty of images and details about the fakes.

As long as you buy from a solid reputable source you should be ok....if you can find that solid and reputable source

I can't see an £80 being genuine though

044's seem to be manufactured in one place

There are now US companies selling pumps similar to 044's and making big claims about them...whether they are actually any good or not or anywhere near as reliable as an 044...who knows.

One key point for spotting a genuine pump i found is it must have a m18 helicoil in the inlet end!

Unfortunately now there are cheap copies of everything, its the old story of "if it seems to good to be true it normally is" As others have said pay the right price for the genuine article from a reputable dealer.

Default helicoil

strangely the early bosch pumps never had the helicoil..but as the guide says all the new ones should in theory have this now

I used to get my genuine Bosch pumps second hand from the rally boys for 80 quid - they only used them for a rally or stage and would then replace them.

Deatschworks have pumps in a similar design to the 044 and one claims to out perform the genuine article.

As to whether that's true or they are reliable is anyones guess. Only time will tell there

https://www.deatschwerks.com/product...ine-fuel-pumps

Likewise AEM make claims about theirs.

http://aemelectronics.com/?q=product...flow-fuel-pump

FSE which should be a reputable source for an 044 certainly arent the cheapest.

http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/walbro-f...mp-0580254044/

Then they also sell their copy/replacement 044 at half the price. It's really hard to see how this copy can perform or be as good as the genuine article at a fraction of the price, I guess the only good thing is at least it's being sold as a replacement, not claiming t be genuine

http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/walbro-f...ch-0580254044/

It should be noted that neither the AEM or Deatschworks pumps are direct replacements for 044's, they use different fittings at each end

Cheers, as said will see what turns up
The cheapy pump might be poop, but as the seller is selling a lot of other Bosch parts I thought it worth a punt.
Hopefully will work out ok if not it will be going back ....
