engine power
Hi i have a standard cosworth engine with
200 block
4wd head
Group a head gaskit
AB07 inlet can
2wd exhaust manifold
Garrett gt3076
83lb injectors
Escos BT inlet manifold with 12mm spacer
Air injector
Rs500 intercooler
S/s exhaust
is going to be live mapped
What power should this make
Cheers

My engine was held back by the intercooler at 478bhp (mine is an RS500 one) and the next step really is to port the head, swap the cam and then pocket the pistons to suit. I am on a Borg Warner twin scroll.
I would imagine that whoever is going to live map it will know much more than I can tell you though.
Its a pace 500 style intercooler
i would be happy with 450 or above
Yeah i'm going for a full rebuild with ported head and pocketed pistons and so on next winter

My bet is that it is 450 - 500 bhp possible but the RS500 intercooler might be the weak link, I believe that you can get 30 degree lower intake temps with the spec R equivalent which is actually smaller and then allows more air to the front rad or air filter. (based on What Mark Shead has said and written many times)

Who's mapping it for you bud??
Going by your Spec I'd say you'll achieve 450, maybe a bit more and with the AB07 torque should be nice too.
Box, diff and brakes is maybe where you need to be looking too

I would suggest with a lot of midrange boost it will surge its tits off, I ran a t4 with a stock ports head but bd14 cams and boost was limited to 22 psi below 5600 rpm due to horrendous surge, it was really bad.
and if you have a stock diff and any grip the diff will leave the building first launch

Totally standard internals, 1000cc injectors, vipec ecu with coil on plug, Borg efr on twin scroll manifold and custom exhaust.
It killed the std box within 100 non aggressive miles and mine was a low mile box. The Borg does spool up much faster than a gt3076 and makes lots of low down torque.
I have also gone for a Supra diff conversion. I will need to now spend over £4k on an opplliger box
Mine is 4x4

diff sorted

I was running a pair of bd14s rod but standard ports, the point im trying to make to the op is with a gt3076 and standard port head it wont make big mid range torque it will be a compromise with boost capping, well either that or a feckin surge monster

honestly my t4 at 2.2 bar below 5600 rpm it sounded horrendous, I wasn't sure what it was to start with, until I watched the boost gauge and saw the boost jumping from 22 - 32 psi rapidly
I didn't mind as I bought it built and it was the right price but I certainly wouldn't want to go to the trouble of building an engine for it to turn out like that.
Yes it should. The enjoyment on the road would just be better if it had the beadwork done or better still use the more moder pm turbo like the twin scroll. Lag can feel fast but makes the car harder to drive and maintain speed.
