Default braided hose diameters etc...

right im going to be making up / getting made up some braided pipes. but i need to know what internal diameter pipe to use for what...
1st off from brake and clutch reservoirs to master cylinders on the pedal box. then from the master cylinders to the bulkhead connections to copper brake lines etc.
2nd from clutch master cylinder to salve cylinder at the gearbox.
any advice would be great. thanks.

I used torques for some of mine and had the brake lines made by these people http://furoreproducts.co.uk/brake-ho...up-to-04m.html

I think you need swaged ends for MOT not the compression fittings.

-3 for pressure lines
-4 for non pressure

Not sure of dimensions I/d etc. but sure you could find out

-3 is typically used for all braking.

-4 would typically be used for clutch, although some might use -3.

Whilst not essential, -4 from master to reservoir would be better than -3.

I'm doing this at the mo with my clutch conversion.
7/16 is an4
3/8 is an3
There the normal clutch and brake sizes

It is completely wrong to try and quite external hose diameters and then reference them to AN anything which specifies internal diameter.

AN4 is 4/16", ie 1/4" ID etc etc

Is it o shit well my remote fluid pot to master is 7/16 and I've done it in an4! And my master to slave is 3/8 and I've done that in an3!
I got my conversion info from torques who sold me the bits!
The wilwood master is listed as 7/16 and 3/8 the bits I've used are an3 and an4 so what bits wrong as most brake and clutch fittings are them size and they fit perfect!

AN4 fittings can also be referred to as using 7/16" UNF thread size.

Not all masters or slaves use these sizes, some more modern stuff will use metric.

AN3 fittings would be 3/8" UNF thread size.

But those dimensions do not relate to hose size.

He needs to state what the fitting sizes are lol if there 7/16 and 3/8 like most then what I put is right and will work if he uses bits from torques!

The original question was specifically about internal pipe diameters.

3/8 or 7/16 would not be correct and is not how such hoses are sold or sized.

I know I was just stating what I've done as I had this problem a short while ago. Plus if you use the likes of torques internal hose diameter don't mean a lot as you order off the fitting sizes and the hose is suited to that as you use the Teflon stuff anyway!

An4 from reservoirs to pedal box, then an3 out to clutch slave and front and rear brakes! I just asked mk for the dimensions!
