Mazdas had a bad time with rust too especially the mazda 6s

 

Yep you got that right glen. I have a 2005 mazda6 for a daily motor and i got the arches done about 8 months back but its coming back again and also the sills are starting to look rough.

 

The mazda 6 will be absolute shockers in another couple of years, be sweeping them off the ramp like ka's at mot time.

 

The paint on the mk1 FRS is very thin and they all suffer terribly from stone chips on the front bumpers but I certainly wouldn't say that they are all rotten, the most notable places for rust on them are where the plastic trim on the door mirrors meets the paintwork and where the edges of the plastic boot handle meet the paintwork. I would guess that most of the better ones have had some new paint but mainly because the owners want them to look tidy not because they are rotten.

 

My mate's nextdoor neighbors car, 10 plate. So that's 3 in a week. Ignore the cobweb on the photo, hes away offshore for another few days.

My 10 plate frs drivers side sill lost loads of paint on the underside,9000 miles and 2 years old when I sold it and it really needed painted.
Paint is thin and there's no arch lips to speak of so a stone chip will do a lot of damage over time.
I'd say that frs in the vid has been poorly repaired at some point.

 

Fookin rusty fords. I dont understand why some manufacturers dont have a problem with rust. Toyota used to be good.

 

I had a look it hasn't had a repair looked all original, as did the first one I seen. I understand what you mean by the lip, it's just not good enough the way it goes in, it should have some kind of paint protection inside to stop this happening.
I thought only the mk1 had thin paint, didn't know these did as well! Stupid Ford
