Just bought a Focus RS after using dervs for a damn long while.
My last car was the Fast Ford featured escort D304 STU

Bought a FRS today and fook me what a difference to my old car. My old car was, if anyone remembers, was a 2.1ZVH, built by NMS Norris motorsport.

It made 267bhp on APT rollers.

We talked about water injection, a 3" bore exhaust straight through to gain more more power, and even NOS maybe. It was not meant to be

Big engine problems meant the engine had to be rebuilt, and the uprated clutch died once it seen the new engine figures.

The car was sold, broken in bits as no-one would buy it complete.

Car sold in bits, I made my money back, and went to the the Golf GT TDi, where I saw 74mpg as a max on a run, but always over 60+ mpg.. Great!!!

Now I have been promoted at work, and no travelling, I see little value in MPG, so wanted something a little more sportier. Ive bought a Focus RS.

Its only 285bhp at the moment but bloody hell does tech move fast, even in cars!!! It's really quick at the moment, and can't see the need for any more.

Anyway, enough of my life story, I still really missed the RS scene, the meets, the convoys.

There a good car the mk1 focus rs, dont go to lairy with power uprgrades though, about 300-330 is best. I had one with 430hp and it was just too much, just wheelspan everywhere

I don't see the need for any more power, its usable as it is yet still a beast.

Stripped some old electics out the car today, need to play with the clifford a bit.

Had something weird in the glove box, something Siemens with a SIM card in there. Well thats all in the bin now LOL

Car booked in at Motorguard for the alarm checkover a week tomorrow, deffo getting blackjax.

So, apart from the remap and exhaust, whats the next easiest modification to an eensy bit more power? Oh god, it's started

Not really fussed on doing shows etc, but do miss the rolling road meet up days etc

had loads of German stuff since my last 2wd Saff about 5 years ago,

few projects, all Audis.

decided to sell my A4 Quattro and buy another 2wd Saff as i move house less than a mile from work on saturday

well looking forward to both swops in the next month

 

LOL, its a Phase 1 Focus RS, they all look the bloody same

 

I've found the biggest improvement you can make to your performance car is drive a diesel for a while. My RST felt like the space shuttle after 2 years in a Mondeo diesel.

I'm glad your enjoying your Focus, I really like them but they do all look the same.

Great cars Arent they.. just wish they were about when I had the rs turbo as would have saved a fortune

 

Ah awesome mate.
Just had my first proper running with some Subaru thing.
He pulled up at the lights behind me, then purposely swung into the lane next to me.
He pulled a cars length on me in 1st gear probably due to 4WD, 2nd gear I held the revs and pulled it back and a few cars lengths, and 3rd gear it was all over.

Only running a modest 275bhp, but they are very capable cars.

On a private test track of cause lol.

I got told there was no such thing as a phase 1 and 2. It was just the mods that they did to them like the seat base stìtching and the throttle cable with the pink gromit.
