Default Ever had a car with a problem that fixed itself.

Just been thinking about a customer who transit van list it clutch pedal for no reason whilst he was driving, he called aa out who said it was his slave cylinder. I went out next morning and pedal had apparently fixed itself and had worked fine since!!! That was 7 months ago and still going strong. Anyone with similar stories?

yes, most of my jobs booked on a thursday/friday ring on the monday to cancel me as the car fixed itself over the weekend!!

everything from missfire with managment lights on, non starts and even a fiesta smoking the garage out with blue smoke that used a litre of oil every 2 days

oh and air con leaks, very suprising the amount of cars with self sealing a/c condensers

odd eh

sadly no real fixes, only time wasting cunts i think

An old friend of mine had a rover 214i wedge a few years back that cooked itself, usual k-series harikari, it was fooked.

He bought a primera off his dad to replace it and wanted to keep the rover combi boiler at mine (about 3 miles away) and by this point hated it so much he ragged the crap out of it.

By the time he got to mine he said it chucked out a lot of white smoke, then the temp dropped and it ran great.

After that point, it carried on as normal and didn't overheat again, so he sold it.

As predictable as british engineering gets!

my fiat ducato lost 4th gear a month after buying it. had it looked at and was confirmed knackerd box.no matter what we tried it would not go in 4th. got used to skipping from 3rd to 5th for a few wks then one day i forgot to skip 4th and it went straight in. that was 5 yrs ago and it still works. it does crunch pretty bad but keeps working.

Yep!!

Today in fact.

The Rover has not put a foot wrong during my ownership but Yesterday the ECU fault light came on. It was accompanied by a low down misfire.
Decided it was not worth the risk to carry on so drove it straight back home & parked up. Went out this morning & it still had a misfire so thought perhaps a blast up the motorway would blow the cobwebs out.
It worked the car is now running perfectly but the light is still on . If its easy will take the bulb out if not a bit of tape will cure the problem .

Until MOT time, as I believe the operation is checked, in addition you are just masking the problem (pardon the pun).

When I hear funny noises the car makes I turn the radio up and cant hear the noise any more, thus assuming its stopped doing it and fixed itself..
