Default RollCages

Right im looking at buying a rollcage for my fiesta but unsure which to get and price dont bother me within reason but weight does and safety and the abilty to use it racing. So far i can only find one cage thats even made for my model which is an omp 6 point bolt in cage which is more costly than a mutipoint weld in one but its alot lighter and i can fit it my self which is a plus but i think a bolt in cage would only allow me to enter club events hill climbs sprints ect but if i wanted to race say in ford fiesta champ i think i would have to fit a new weld in cage but i cant find one company that sells them for the 1996 to 2002 fiesta.

So what options do i have for a cage? buy a bolt in cage and hope i can use it in a championship or get a weld in one from a diffrent car and mod it to fit or get a besoke cage made but will that even be fia aproved then?

Thanks

Have you got an MSA Blue Book mate?
It's got all the information in there about which cages you need for which types of motorsport/classes you do.

if your planning on runing in a msa championship then msa guid lines are fine , Fia cages are for mainly different materials and different diameters

Where are you based?
Caged in Frome, Somerset will do what you want to FIA/MSA spec etc.

Always worth going for a weld in if you're competing IMO.

iirc 50mmx2mm cds seem less or 45x2.5mm is msa approved but the 50mm is lighter over a whole cage

Sounds like you'd be after a t45 cage, as said, where in the country are you?

Find a local rally prep/cage guy and have them make one.

If they're any good it will be better than any off the shelf item, and can be tailored to suit you within whatever regs you are racing in.

Plus it'll likely be cheaper than a purchased cage

Caged are now also a safety devices dealer, but they custom made the one in my old 3DR.

i cannot recommend them enough, excellent quality.
