I think one of the dangers of the Internet is that you end up building your car for everyone else, gotta have the latest xyz etc etc or it is shite.

Away from the forums, 380-400Bhp in a fairly lightweight 2wd car is still a total weapon that not much will catch if it is driven well.

Out of all the Cosworths I have had & driven, my 370bhp T34 2wd saff was by far & away the most fun IMHO, reliable & still fast enough to batter Porsches

I'd leave the car as it is 100%.

Is it fast. YES!
Is it fun? YES
Is it broken? NO

Seriously.... keep the car as it is. Its working great and you like it.

Really hope you listen. So hard to earn money these days.... so why spunk it on a lovely and fast car thats NOT broken?!?!?!? AND that a few months back you were bored of and thinking of selling....

If you wanna spend your money. Buy a new toy... buy a little clio or Mx5 or something and track it. SOOOOOOOOO much more fun in doing that then spending LOTS of money building a bombproof engine for a cossie.

And let me tell you... IMHO. At your power level... the bombproof engine has an equal chance of going wrong as the old 91k one!

It will be loom failure, fuel pump, injector or some ancillary failure that kills it in my opinion rather than throwing a rod or cracking block. These can all happen AND have happened to me on brand new builds... or just some unlucky freak event, had them as well!

DON'T THROW GOOD MONEY AT AN OLD CAR.... THATS FAST AND FUN AND WORKING FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally agree with you... I would have left it as it is but its started knocking and smoking .... So it really need a rebuild or engine..... All I want when it done is the same as I have now I'm not wanting any extra.. Just a little stronger ...loom will be getting done and everything else injectors fuel pump etc are brand new so hopefully it will be back to being fun and me being happy with it .

Oh and your still taking it round a track when it's done..

1/ you think Rod was being serious
2/if he was even remotely serious he wound you into a coiled spring
3/ didn't see you as a Internet bully especially picking on a old man !

Thought you would be above all this mate to be honest

to be fair to rod i have owned a 400 hp saph, and an 850 hp supra with similar performance to rods car upto 150 mph and honestly i can assure you that at even the slightest hint of a straight road it is mind boggling how fast a car of that calibre can accelerate, but also an extreme handful and hard work trying to exit a corner laying power down at 100 mph or below.

theres a video on here somewhere of rod pulling away from yums escort and that is like a stage 3 saph racing a milk float tbh lol

but as a nice useable road car that isnt going to threaten to take your licence and even your life every time a wheel turns a good 400 ish hp car like my r32 gtr daily is perfect.
