I paid Ł1200 for a brand new 6 long studded block in 2007.

New they were around Ł750 a few years back I paid that for one and back 2 years ago I couldn't get the money back for it! How things have changed.

i was always told to buy a std bore block that is used, as that way its been through many heat cycles etc and been exposed to the elements

RS500 small core 205 Block, its the race block with extra webbing for strength. if your interested let me know and i will tell him.

i've also got this sump here for you

would it not be worth looking at an expired 200 block so you've the meat to long stud it but go for liners instead? best of both worlds that way I'd have thought.

No I'm not after power .. Ill be stopping with a T34.48 as before or an equivelent ... I just want a stronger engine with scope to go bigger in future if I require.... I love the car as it is... I just want to make sure it's top top... It's done 91k on original engine now so time to rest it.

Mat,

Don't take this the wrong way pal, but WHY ? If I were fitting a 200 block and not want to be on a T34.48, in that case just refresh your engine and keep the 205 block bud, save some pennies.
