i solved the filter issue (mine had Dunnell filter) by removing it and trying the bonnet jobbie
what about sock filters on trumpets?
maby held in place by lock wire if your on short trumpets?
job done?

i basicaly chopped the dunnell filter up, and fitted it inside the "grooves" on the bonnet, if you see what i mean? and cable tied it in place by drilling 10 holes in the bonnet recess
running no filters will not cause any issues, i ran that engine for nearly 2 years at 8krpm limmiter flat out every day where possible
dont forget carbs cause spit back, and make things catch fire, ask the mk2 boys!
my mk2 did this and luckily i caught it and extinguished it before it went up in flames
hence why i dont like filters on carbs![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

this was the after pic, had to replace the servo/master cyl and repaint the innerwings black due to the spit back fire
and LOL @ having to post a comeback without crying![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
