Default HPi opinions? Have a look....

Ive just done an HPi on a car im about to buy and its shown up a discrpency in the mileage, it looks like a mistake to me on one of the mileage inputs as all the rest add up and the current mileage is now in the 50K bracket, but i just want some opinions for peace of mind, does all look ok?

Cool, glad of that. Do you know if this sticks with the car long term now and can it be rectified? Dont do many HPi's and unsure if they can be corrected for somebodies mistake like this?

Not entirely sure but yes I do believe that stays on there. Really though the facts are plain to see to any potential buyer from you.

If the car is right for you and ok price wise I wouldn't let it put you off.

It's ammo to chip the seller on price if anything I guess.

Already knocked it down and the car is perfect everywhere else, low miles, FFSH, fantastic spec etc so happy with the rest.

And like you say, its plainly obvious its a mistake, as the rest of the mileage input adds up properly etc.

Cheers for input mate.

How about a speedo change logged by the manufacturer (presumably a dealer) in Jan 2007?

If so just add the 15,715 to current mileage. Looks quite innocent to me and certainly would not worry me if everything else looked good.

blatant mistake IMO, HPI's will flag up any discrepancy, even how small.

Prime example is if you go and hpi a car and round up the mileage and then decide not to buy, if another buyer then hpi's the same car inputting the exact mileage, this will also throw up a discrepancy

This is what i thought.

Went and seen the car anyway, everything else was spot on, guy had all previous MOT's etc that show mileage, so gonna submit the info to HPi and see if it can be resolved as it was the only issue on the car.

Drives great, very torquey, rarely have to drop from 5th or 6th even when slowing down around town etc, and managed some good mileage on the return.
