Default Ignition timing question

So I've finally decided to show a bit if Interest in my escort. First job is get it on a rolling road for a set up. I'm hoping to drive the car as I'm only a few miles from the tuner. I'm running a standard 2.0 silver top zetec on CBR1100 carbs with 4 branch and full exhaust. I'm using megajolt programable ignition and running a base map I got off tinternet. I've used a friends gas analyser to set up my idle and balanced the carbs correctly. I've got a nasty flat spot between 3300rpm and 4000rpm. The car bogs down and over fuels terribly. Do I need to advance or retard the timing to help clear this? I understand I'm not a engine tuner nor do I pretend to be. I just want to make the car more drive able to get me the short journey to the garage.
All help welcome

Can you post up a screenshot of the ignition advance map? Also more details about the flat spot (e.g throttle angle), what are you using as the load for the megajolt tps or map

For a start a chunk of your map is totally wasted and unused. Your load only needs to go to 100kpa

Far from perfect, but try this for a base map

In fact totally ignore the above.
How aren't you using MAP or TPS? The megajolt is doing the grand sum of F-all without one of those inputs.
If you've been able to take it out to get it to 4k to know this issue exists, then just take it straight to a pro who can then fit the Megajolt correctly.

I'm guessing from that response I can't run it on a 2d map then?

An example of a 2d map is:
RPM
vs
MAP

At the moment, you are using 1D using only RPM as in input which essentially rules the map/megajolt as useless as they are doing absolutely nothing (a mechanical vacuum distributor does more)

Your megajolt ecu will be either equipped with a MAP sensor or if not it will be TPS.
If its got a map sensor (little black nipple sticking out the side) then literally plumb a vacuum line from this into your carbs (best to link a take off from each runner so you have an equal pulse across).
If its TPS... well then you need a TPS fitting/wiring in.
