Default potential new car to replace the supra ......

well i broke the supra for parts it was a hard decision but id rather loose a little now than a lot later so it had to go.
been super busy with stripping the supra and harvest but im in talks about my next car.
ive set my budget to £20k so an r35 is out the window for now.
ive already got an r32 gtr as a daily and i love it so dont want to ruin that by tuning it shes sweet and reliable at 460 hp.
r34 gtr again out of budget so r33 gtr it is, ive missed the gtr awd system from day 1 of getting the supra so will be good to get that back.
so i found this so far

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4145976.htm

i am arrangeing to view it, its potentially exactly what im after.
i want something late 1990s ideally a v-spec with working air-con and stock interior so its still comfortable.
i want some carbon dress up for the first time so its a good base for that, the wheel colour i hate but i would get them carbon dipped.
power is 150 hub hp shy of the supra but if it lays it all down 0 - 100 should still be the same or quicker than the supra.
i have a bay shot also that i got from the seller

just need to check it out now but if its in good health i will be buying it.

Oh just to add you've already had one bad time with the dick who built the supra lump so stay away from junk that abbey have built if you stuck on one speak to ron at rk turning

my rb i had built by tr racing was awesome i wish i still had it tbh.
all tuners have built a bad un includeing rk tuning mate.
i would hapily use mgt racing, abbey or rk tuning, i love the rb26 not as torque as a 2jz but still awesome in its own right.
any engine will be unreliable if its not built correctly, the supra was a prime example the best of the best components and it trashed the bottom end in no time, i dont know what but some thing was massivly flawed in the engine build. my rb26 wasnt a big budget build just a stock crank, stock rods with forged wiseco pistons 7800 rpm all day long not a problem, much the same as my current r32 except my current one is stock sump and oil pump hence not going over 460 hp with it and 7500 rpm limit, i try to not pass 7k rpm.

that does look nice other than the colour wheels and spoiler.

whilst i appreciate its cheaper to buy one with all the mods done already, can you not buy a shell and get your own motor built? when you bought the Supra ,because of who built the engine i had a feeling it wouldnt last - i just dont want you going down the same path again

I've to agree with jay on this mate soz

I'm sure it's a very good car but I'd be very weary

Best buying a good standard car and building it your self IMO
But all the best with what u do all the same.

the wheels i hate to in blue, the spolier though is a genuine mines r34 gtr spoiler with mines uprights worth a few pennys.

a 1997 gtr v spec is decent money anyways for a tidy one, then all the carbon which i want alot of it is already done, stack dash again something ive wanted for a while, i couldnt build a car to that spec for anywhere near £17k as a clean stock v spec will be 8 - 10k anyways.

i am hopeing to have the lump borescoped and get a compression test done, if all is good and oil pressure is good i will buy it.
thats the other reason behind only haveing a £20 budget to purchase the car, i have a nice size purse to spend on it to if needs be

dont take this the wrong way mate as its not meant this way, but i think you jumped with 2 feet into the Supra - i'd hate to see you do the same with this one.

just be careful

ive done alot of background checks and its an owners club car since import
it last sold in 2006 to the current owner was on a bigger turbo back then, the new gt4094r has only done 1800 miles since abbey motorsport fitted it and mapped it.

The car obviously has a Cat1 alarm & also has a UK CD headunit. All the climate controls have been relocated to the glove box

The car has done 9900 odd miles & currently is SORN'd in my garage. It doesn't have an MOT right now, but this is something that can be sorted.

In terms of specification, it is one of, if not the most 'complete' R33 GTR's in existance I believe & is gorgeous

It was a well known car in Japan, having run numerous low 10 second 1/4 miles & some top speed bits.

Just a random thought, have you thought about getting a car imported? But using an exporter in Japan? Bit more effort, but considering some of the best tuners in the world are there..

That looks sweet and sounds like it's very well specc'd, just make sure you look at how it's been screwed together! If you buy it I hope you have much more luck than with the Supra.

thanks fella and i think il pass on selling the 32 for what its cost me , its not mint but to buy a car in the same genuine rebuilt condition would cost double what its cost me, you win some and you loose some it all works out in the end.

the missus would love me to get an evo she loves them but i just dont like the look of them and too many doors, but the engine layout is the clincher i hate fwd layout, a gtr ticks all the boxes for me.

i have a ramp so i can do most of my own work, and i now use mgt racing so would probably get them to build me an engine if needs be.

I'm not sure if that is for a good or bad recomendation but every tuner has had there failures and made mistakes, its how they deal with them what counts, any tuner that says they havnt had a failure or made a mistake is lying imo.

And don't risk more than you can afford to loose, its gonna of cost me about 6k for the supra for 3k miles but when it worked it was mental, and I'm happy I've had one and now realise for 500plus bhp awd is the only way
