Remapping a Vauxhall Astra 1.7 Cdit van
1.3 cdti is what I have now,and will be getting it mapped, econmy is better but you also have more power and torque and obviously if you rag it day in day out then maybe a little worse.
My 1.7cdti used to get 80 miles to a tenner before and after the map but the torque after a remap is a massive gain, the 1.7 is a better engine, although I have done 17000 miles in my 1.3 without fault,I did 30000miles in my 1.7 and that only needed the egr cleaning but blew 2 water pipes in my time but never damaged the HG
I Would not have the 1.3 in a 5 speed

Just be aware if its the 1.7 cdti with the ecu bolted to the rocker cover (denso one) I think there's only a place in Leeds that can remap it. I've got that engine in my corsa sri that I've converted into a van and the previous owner was telling me about it, they struggle to get into it to rewrite it so a lot of people use tuning boxes. I googled it and seems he was right but there might be someone down south who can do it.
I went from my mapped fabia vRS to this and thought it was shit but I've driven a standard combo and astra with the same engine and it has made a hell of a difference. I should think it's around 125ish bhp now but the torque when you're on the motorway is spot on. Nowhere near my fabia but for a van it's plenty

You'll be able to map that no probs then. I'd Google it and see where there is by you. There will be the likes of quantum tuning that can stick a tooty fruity generic map on but I'm not a fan of these, a few of my mates had them on their mk5 astra vans and the maps were horrendous!! Smoked like a train, boost spikes and flat spots. If you're not too fussed go to someone like that or if you want a decent drive research custom maps for them. It took me about a year to get a map for my fabia and in the end I ended up driving to Liverpool for a forum member to map it, he had spent about 3 years perfecting the map and its regarded as one of the best maps for it. Think I only paid £150 for it too
no smoke, smooth power and also got launch control, left foot braking and egr delete in with the price too. I'd personally get on a vauxhall site and see what they suggest but I'd sooner travel to get a decent map than get one local that's shit. Also look at dtuk tuning boxes and see what you think to them
