How much for cash?
I'm selling an old transit van, just want it out the way.
The amount of gimps ringing and texting is unreal, most common question is "what's your last price for cash?" how else were they planning on paying? Camels?
I'm never doing a van again ever!!!!!!!
It's driving me insane lol

You mean you don't offer Direct Debit over 50 months (with PPI included and then give them it all back with compensation later?)

Annoying isn't it!
I used to write back saying.. 'Sorry, I was after payment in magic beans'
If it wasn't "how much for cash?"
The other favourite would be an offer around half the asking price (say car was well priced at £10k) You'd get.. "Would you take £5,000 CASH?"
Note the cash in capitals!
I used to sell the odd car on eBay. I had my mate's modded Evo 8 on there, he paid £18k for it (was a fair few years ago) and they were around £16k when he wanted to sell. I had it on eBay for £15k which was below average and it was low mileage and lots of expensive bits. I had the best offer option and some of the offers were hilarious. Some twat actually offered £3k. Now, I assumed he was joking but replied with a reply along the lines of "why are you wasting my time with silly offers?" And he actually wrote back saying "well, you might have been desperate to sell"

And that's exactly why people make stupid CASH offers.... May only work 1 in 20 times but it is possible to get a bargain if your willing to wait!
(Although 3k offer on a 15k car is stupid!)
I'v done it myself and it works.

To be fair I bought a peach of a 911 for less than 50% of asking price, cheeky offer and keen seller. I don't know what people get so offended. It is an offer and you can refuse. If you are really keen then you take the low ball money, if not decline.
I offered low on an engine recently and the seller was offended, oddly though he didn't offer higher and I was prepared to go higher, I was waiting to play the game but he got the arse so I did not bother.

If you dont get laughed at, you've gone in to high!
Loved it when i was selling my 3K avensis, some gimp turned up, looked at it trying to find fault (it was mint 50k example) and then tried offering me £500 for it, I thanked him for wasting my time and proceeded to walk into the house..
Another guy bought it for £3100, gave me a £100 deposit to hold it for a couple days for him, turnded up with 3K cash and gave me that for it - he was over the moon and thought he was getting a bargain of the century and refused to pay me Just the 3k I wanted...
I Was desperate so didnt put up much of a fight

I put a set of wheels on eBay recently at 99p start, they were buckled and I described them perfectly. Hoped to get 100-150 quid for them as they had good tyres, some bloke messaged me saying how much for cash to end early. He sounded like a right chav so I thought I'd put him off by saying 400. He said OK I'll be there in an hour, which he was and was chuffed to bits with his 'bargain'

This is why I gave up buying and selling. The buying bit I loved I got some right bargains, the selling bit I hated with a passion. I even roped my mate in to sell them for me for a share in the profits but he soon got the hump with all the time wasters so we just knocked it on the head. If I could get someone to sell them for me I'd be back on it

sometimes I prefer to brake or just scrap the car rather than sell it. I remember selling an EVO some years ago, some twat typed a short message offering £1,500 less than asking price not having seen the car. I put the price up low to move on. Needless to say a friend of a friend bought it. He got a great car at a great price. I think I've only sold 2 cars of all the cars ive owned.

Ive probably bought and sold 50 cars or so over the last few years, as a buyer i research what things are selling for first, what issues they have and what to look for and any offer i make would be based on that, only a tosser or a gypsy would ask for half off in CASH and as a seller especially with vans you'll be deleting many of these but a genuine buyer will turn up.
dont do it so much now just every now and again as bargains nowadays seem to be bargains for a reason, i.e., they are fooked

Funny how everyone wants to haggle a bargain when they are buying, but gets pissy when someone haggles when they are selling...
Just ignore stupid offers.

I dont mind reasonable offers, even cheeky offers if done with a bit of acknowledgement. But as said it is the stupid half price offers and 'CASH TODAY' dribble that bugs me.
Worst is those that after a chat via the phone agree a price and then arrive and take the 'new' price as the new 'asking price' to start haggling again.
I was selling my old mans Zafira a few years back, £2995, priced fair. They want it for £2250, I agree. The come up from London, two Indian men speaking little English. Go for a drive and start offering £1800. I just laughed and told them to p*ss off, they genuinely had only came with £2200 and sent them to a cash point for the extra £50.

Half the.time it isnt worth trying to sell cheap stuff or stuff at a cheap price as anything cheap attracts people who seem to expect the world for fuck all.
Found that out selling cars, ebay, fitting kitchens etc. If its cheap or they want it cheap then fuck them off asap.
Strange that at opposite ends of the market people behave the same. Except that if you are paying top dollar then you rightly expect top quality. What makes people think they can expect the same for rock bottom? Only conclusion i could come to from my tight mate is that cheap shit attracts poor and/or tight people who value every penny higher than your typical folk hence want more for thier money.
