Default Declared Scraped car back on the road?

Is it possible to put a declared Scraped car back on the road? Found a shell that was going to be scrapped but the owner didnt as it was too good. But sent the docs off as scrapped. The shell is good, has vin tags and chassis number. But is a bare paneled shell, no engine.

yes apply for a v5, dvla will question it and ask you to transport the shell to be checked out
if its legit you get your v5 and build a car up in it

you get a cheap cheap shell too

if its been scrapped ages they may have no records so you would maybe reg it as new/declared (1988 or whatever) or give you a new chassis number

the yard that issued the CoD would get their ares kicked all over if they did that.
it would need to have been scrapped since the new V5's have been out and the seller would have the CoD as proof the shell had gone

i doubt any yard would issue a CoD without making sure that shell was crushed
but what happens if there is a ringer or twinned up car out there on the same id??
imagine you scrap you car and someone has rung up anothe ron it, who gets the shite
or if yours was the ringer the one left was legit
can of worms for the yards as its not for them to ensure a cars id is its original

my cabbie was srun in last month and i just taped the plate to the Bpilar because the car was top to toe in other scrap and the front panel was off it, the floor number was under a ton of scrap and the vins were in there somewhere

i digress......

It was scrapped a few years ago, about 3 or 4. So it was with the old V5.

Found a Land Rover 90 in the scrap yard for my mate recently it was listed as spares only for sale. No plates on it but the chassis number was there. My mate managed to get the reg number from Land Rover and then rang DVLA they said it wasn't listed . So they had no data for it to see it was scrapped or not. He had to apply for the log book. Came back 8 weeks later one owner from new. If its got i.d. get it cross referenced and get the reg, then give DVLA a call. If its listed as scrap they'll tell you

Yes that's the one. Needs a floor/tunnel fitting as the one in it (not done by me) is a bit of a bodge.
I'm struggling for space though
