I'm after some emissions information which is supposed to be on a sticker under the bonnet and possibly in the handbook as well.

does anyone have such a sticker under the bonnet anywhere or can you look in the handbook to see if anything is mentioned.

I could do with a decent pic if anyone can find anything on it.

Ive just imported my 3 door to Australia and it needs to have a cat in it and a sticker under the bonnet relating to emissions standards - anything on L8 ecu should be ok.

I have a late spec 4x4 manual in front of me (Green top L8 with cat) and like I PM'd you, there is nothing in the manaual or on the car that coincides with what you are being told .

The Escort runs P8, so not sure if this would be acceptable anyway, as is a different ECU ?

I know you said you couldnt find anything but I thought I would throw it to the lions and see if anyone has anything resembling this, failing that we'll have to accept it doesnt exist and find another way round it.

There's nothing under my 4x4 bonnet chap, and Mike has my book.......Soz. I do have my old std exhaust sys complete with cat if ya interested?

I just went to the garage to check, theres a few stickers on my 4x4 IC. One gives the plug number and gap, one has a high voltage symbol and warning sign. The other indicates you shouldn't adjust the dizzy without reading the manual. The only other sticker has a big CO with a pic of a manual. Sorry I can't be any more help

You need to refer to section 29t of the 2 part workshop manual for the relevant parts - show them this to satisfy them

or do what other aussie owners have done and go to an Aus Ford dealership and just buy one of the engine bay stickers for any of the aus model Fords that shows emmisions levels.

I have a copy of the Ford in-house technicians manual that shows pictures of the differences between the red and green top cars and confirms that the green top meets US 83 emmsion regs and even that does not mention a sticker - the only sticker I can think of is the green one on the ecu.
