Default Mk1 Focus RS in bits...

had my focus for sale for a wee while now with some interest but noone has been to see it yet. not in a major rush to sell it, i just need to free up some space and i also dont get the chance to use it.

its a 2 owner Hpi clear straight car with nice panels and wheels etc all in vg condition.

it would be a shame but i'm considering breaking it.

what is a complete RS worth in bits? the major parts i mean (shell, panels, engine, wheels etc). roughly?

cheers
andy

If it aint selling maybe it's priced too expensive.

Seems a very good price - where do you have it advertised.

The prices have dropped loads recently....

ye av seen 1/4s advertised for silly money. I did hear that things like drive shafts and lower arms are no longer available.

I may break it yet will have a think over the next few days. just had 2k spent on it and the paint shop! new genuine tailgate and spoiler, grab handle and badges and got the rear bumper painted all only 4 weeks ago!

ye i will have a think over the next few days! ye got all that done for one wee mark on the tailgate!

breaking is a hassle as always getting cash in dribs and drabs. was more curious than anything to what parts were worth. shame to do it to a straight car.

stick it on ebay at Ł4k no reserve, it will shift as for in bits

shell 1500
engine 1000
interior 500
wheels 400
brakes 200
suspension 100
bumpers 300
gearbox 400
dash and centre console 200

thats an easy Ł4500 in bits, and then probably another Ł1500 for the reamining parts, and mods on top of that

its just the hassle, time and space required to undertake the task

regards

I think you've priced it well. If I was closer I would of popped in. I know people will say jump on a plane if your interested, worth travelling, etc, etc but work at the moment is hectic and trying to find the time to do anything is very difficult.

Hang on in there, it will soon sell

It looks a very nice motor and is sensibly priced. I think what the problem is, is that there's so many over priced that when one comes up for sensible money like yours people may think that there's possibly something wrong with it when there isn't. Good luck with the sale whether in bits or as a full car. If it wasn't for the loft conversion I'd have been interested
