Default Gearbox :/

Some clever person has sold me a xr4x4 gearbox and told me its a cosworth box 4x4 so all fitted today and then built all up to go and fix the clutch on to find the arm is to short so made a phone call and someone I called confirmed this was correct instead of fitting it all over again and swapping arms just wondering if I fit a xr4x4 clutch cable would this work any help would be a great help thanks

It has a different bell housing, look at the top bolt holes compared to your old box.

You could just stick all of the XR's gearbox internals into your casing I'm sure.

Then the box is from a 2.0 DOHC XR4x4. I think the input shaft, ratios and bearings are different from the cossie box. The V6 XR4x4 box also has a different input shaft, but the same ratios and bearings as the cossie box. But on the V6 box the bell housing is different from the 4 cilinder boxes.

So there's not much you can use from the 2.0 XR4x4 box I'm afraid.
