Si B and Jimbo. Si goes quite frequently, but Jim went the week before to the Ring. So either way you'll get a few answers here. I've been a few times

Camping is great and only a few mins away from the ring (infact it backs onto the GP circuit)

I'm planning to head over at the beginning of August this year... it's worth having a search for threads started by Si B on here, because he's done a comprehensive write up for each trip he's been on. Although prices will undoubtedly be higher now, it should give you a reasonable idea of how much/where to go/what to see.

Campings priced per day for some stupid reason, I was over at the end of March and stayed here: http://www.villa-huegel.com/uk/html/surroundings.html which was nice and quiet, but I've also stayed in the Hotel an der nordeschlife (sp?) and at the camp site (both also good)

I went weekend before last and it was more expensive than when I went two years ago.
Laps are €26 euros each and can no longer buy ten at a time. It's one lap, four laps, twenty five laps or a season pass
as above 1 lap is 26
Can't remember 4 laps
We did 25 which was €490
And a season was €1100 iirc
Expensive but really worth it.
There's alot of good accommodation around the ring and not too dear.
We stayed at the pistenklause hotel called tier garten iirc and that was €340 for three nights twin bedroom inc breakfast.
One thing you MUST have over there is a steak on a stone at the pistenklause resteraunt It's amazing, pizza is awesome too!
The museum is worth going in aswell as you can change the wheels on a f1 car racing against your mates. That's alot of fun. (especially when you beat matey there who does it all day everyday like we did LOL!)
That's all I can think of really.
People may laugh but if you've never been, learn it on forza 3 on the Xbox and it will give you such a good idea of where your going. I know the ring off by heart on the Xbox, and after 17 laps driving I can safely say I know what's coming up on each corner, it dosnt take long to learn, We were doing low-mid 9 mins where a pro driver does 8:47 in the same car, was quite happy at that really considering with some traffic.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
I was meant to be going this month but had to pull out. I'm sure one of the hotels/B&B also had garages tools and car lifts as well. (handy if you're going in a Ford)

Grain Turismo has served well on giving me a good idea of the track.
Dont know hoe many laps ill be doing yet, more for the ;ads weekend away than a balls out assault on the track as i might end up going in the diesel focus daily driver to keep costs down!
Friend has a 3.0 Z4 so really ought to book my ideas up and sort a car out!
Mk1 Capri is 95% complete but a long drive in that thing!

long weekend can be done for Ł600 per car if you budget right, and dont do too many laps, im off again end of june and will be taking Ł300 with me and expect not to exceed this by much. lidl for food during the day, pinocchios pizza at night and 2 laps a day, then some sightseeing around the circuit the rest of the time.
before i get knocked down for this estimate on costs like last time, ive been going for 5 years now and have still yet to exceed Ł400 for 3 days away (including ferry, fuel, laps, food and accomodation).
depends how crazy you want to go, its VERY easy to spend more if you have more.

went on my 7th trip two weekends ago, I went in TDi golf, so quite good on fuel but you still need to budget approx Ł600 Id say for everything, crossing, b&b, fuel, food, laps, and dont forget a little more in case you have any mishaps. Always get breakdown cover as well.
Bearing in mind I done around Ł700 this past trip but I did do 12 laps at a cost of 285 euro and went out for Steak 3 nights running at 25 euro a night, and took the train, which is a tiny bit more expensive than the boat, but so much quicker you can get to the ring the same day you travel and have the afternoon there.
We always stay at Sliders Guest House, 15 mins from the ring, but a nice drive there and back, and its only 32 euro per night, beers fridge always full for the guests. Spot On.
Im back again late august early september, and planning on moving over there sometime next year hopefully, i love the place/atmosphere

p.s. did anyone see this.
Happened bank holiday friday just gone, just hours before we arrived, track closed for 4 hours, luckily all survived. Although we was debating he saved himself a few quid not damaging the armco, lol

Here's my now 5 year old report, with a real breakdown of literally every cost:
https://passionford.com/forum/genera...s-of-pics.html
Obviously the exchange rate has changed badly for us, and the costs over there have increased a lot too---> 26 Euros for a lap now, I once paid around Ł11-12
Pic from that report above that I love:
That's me in the hire jeep

Ive always wanted to do this, but been put off by friends spending Ł1000s on a weekend away, that to me is nice beach hol money!
But Ł300-600 is much better, gonna crack on and do this in the next couple of years!
That jeep jumping is so wrong bet that landed with a thud lol!

this is the nearest hotel to the Nordschleife entrance.
done several trips and never exceeded Ł500 for a long weekend.
we always cross the channel using norfolk line dover - dunkirk as its a fraction of the cost of dover calais and puts you further up the coast in the direction you need to go.

Ive never driven at gatebil so cant comment.
We normally go for about 5 days, so thats skewing my costs a bit I guess as to me I still class that as "a long weekend" which I guess most people would say its more than?
Basics though with real vague figures:
Tunnel crossing + fuel to get over and back : 200
Accomodation for two : 400
Food for two for 5 days : 250
Breakdown cover : 100
Petrol and laps : 600
Thats 1550, and then you have some wear and tear on the car, tyres and brakepads etc.
So yeah, 1500 was a bit low if anything and thats before you start going to the museum or going offroading and stuff too.

Camping is cheap but your money goes on laps and fuel ,if you have a few bhp's you will be doing near on 15- 20 euro's a lap in fuel and 26 euro for your ticket,it dont take long to spend a few quid, plus your fuel out there and back Ł150 to Ł200 ,beer food all adds up
