Can't wait to get myne done, think the e60 has 500nm as standard? They have sorted me a courtesy car now so I don't have to wait around all morning.

Im sure you will be over the moon with it mate, and if not there is a 7 day money back guarentee with evolution chips anyway so you can always change your mind still

On the 3/5 series more than just about any other car it normally takes a couple of dozen miles before the map is fully up to speed, sounds daft but because it involves altering some of the cars limit settings, like torque limiters etc, the car has to "learn" how the new map works, its not like mapping aftermarket management where all the changes are instant.
So you typically wont feel all the gains straight away, unless the mapper has taken it on a long test drive to get it right upto full power.
So dont be surprised initially if its not quite as quick as you are expecting for the first few miles!
Spot on so far, car does not feel that different to me at the moment power wise, although the trip comp is now reading 38 rather than 32!

ive just had the EGR thermostat replaced on mind and now the temp is reading a much happier 88 degrees

i'll report back on MPG after the weekend, but i'm hoping it'll be significantly up on the 28 combined it did on the last tank!

well i've done a long run with the fixed temperature and i'm still not that impressed. it was a 160mile trip which was 70% motorway and 30% A-Roads mostly with cruise control on @ 70mph and i got...

35MPG!

i mean if that was the M3 i'd be impressed, but a derv?

you think i may have a fault still? or am i still not a million miles off normal for a fully ladden automatic touring (ie lots of weight to haul about)

Still on the low side I would have thought it would've been doing low 40's at the minimum especially on mostly motorway and even A-roads. Still not being very economical really.

Really? How shit is shit? Most people tend to do OK in them getting mid 40s on the M'way and that's most of them doing the speed limit or over. Town driving you can get them down to low 30s probably even high 20s if you have a heavy foot and don't understand how traffic flow works.

i dont think im driving it with a heavy foot, im actually a very slow gradual driver nowadays.

yes i reset the MPG counter, but i calculated the 35mpg based on filling a tank and working it out...

its certainly MUCH better now ive fixed the stat, it warms up very quick now

perhaps i need to take a look at the state of the EGR valve and the fannymould see if theyre sooted up...
