Default Loud hum when turning left only Mondeo TDCI Zetec-s

I have recently bought a Mondeo tdci zetec-s and when I was buying I was aware that it needed a new driver side wheel bearing and so as soon as I bought it I got that replaced. However after having that done I have noticed that mainly when I turn left the front right starts to hum and the faster I'm going when I turn the louder it is. It tends to get louder the longer I am driving for and so by the time I complete a 2 hour journey its really loud and can still be heard when going straight between 30-60mph but when I start it cold and only drive for 20 minutes or so it can only just be heard when turning left. I am wondering what could be the cause of this problem? I suspect there is a possibly that I got a duff bearing but it seems unlikely. Also the sound is usually a low deep hum that sort of goes whurwhurwhurwhur and the 'whurs' increase with how fast I go. It isnt engine related because if i dip the clutch the hum stays the same. The second noise I can hear seems to be coming from the steering wheel which seems to be of higher pitch to the wheel hum but it could be my ears playing trick on me because the sound is quite ominous. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Not really, steering wheel has a tiny tiny bit of wobble but nothing noticeable.

You sure, you haven't replaced the wrong bearing? I once had a Mondy with a noisy wheel bearing. Could have sworn it was the left front one since it got worse in right hand corners so had that one replaced. Humming was still there. Jacked the car up and turned the other (front right) wheel by hand and it sounded like a bag of nuts. Had that bearing replaced aswell and all was good.

The sound is definitely coming from the front right and yes it's definitely been replace in the last week. I'm just wondering if there is any specific noise to perhaps a cv joint or drive shaft?

Well try the drive shaft center bearing then. It's in the middle of the long (right) drive shaft.

^ Yup, I'd be looking at that next. The CV would give off the characteristic 'clicking' sound.

Ok this sounds promising then, any idea on how much this is likely to cost fitted? Thanks for the help everyone, much appreciated.

I think around 50 - 60 quid for the bearing plus labour. Maybe around 100 pounds all in all...

agreed, I have thought it's the wrong side and did the good bearing to find it was the other, so hard to locate by sound.

drive shaft would make a clicking sound not humming?
