We have been to The Red Sea 3 years running. TOTALLY out of this world.
Sharm is lovely. Stay at the Hyatt Regency Sharm el Sheikh. It has its own Coral Reef with a Jetty. It is AMAZING. 5 Star Deluxe.
Also, if you do, do the trip to Tiran Island. There is an absolutely breathtaking Ship Wreck that has run aground years ago and is stuck on a shallow reef above the water. Totally spectacular.
We are going to go back this year.

I went to Egypt last year and words cannot describe how fantastic it was!
Over a 2 week period we went pretty much everywhere except Sharm el Shiek.
The last few days were spent in Hurgada by the Red Sea............. all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!
If you're thinking of going I would defo recommend going with Kuoni (big specialist holiday firm). You can tailor make your package to do as much or as little as you like. All hotels are 4* and above and the service recieved is second to none.
Just talking about it makes me wanna be back there!

You have the same thing in Egypt, but more so with blonde haired women. Some places are worse than others.
Cairo airport is a real experience in itself, just DONT let anyone try and take your bag for you when you first arrive, its not they will want to steal it, but they will want you to pay them.
In the whole 2 weeks I only had a a couple of instances where I felt vunerable because my hair was getting too much attention, in general everyone there loved English tourists as all they see is ŁŁŁŁŁŁŁŁŁŁŁ and what we see as small change is a full meal for their family.

Cheers for the advice guys and gals!!
Clare, if I get my way we won't be venturing any further than the pool and Nic is olive skinned/dark hair so I'm sure we'll have more trouble with the locals trying to talk egyptian to her!!!

It is the way they "barter" for their wifes, that's all. And if you're gf happens to be blonde, which you have to admit is usually pretty rare amongst african people, then she is worth more camels than say a dark hair woman...
They can be a bit clingy if you go to the Souk (market) but again, as long as you stay polite and don't insult them, there is nothing to worry about. Even though, they're just likely to insult you back in their own language...
Hotels in Tunisia can be from right down pooo to really good and nice ones. The island of Djerba is about half way down the coast of Tunisia and is lovely. Hotels are very nice, all by the beach and usually with pretty big pools...
I have been there and it was lovely, but I wouldn't go back as its too busy for me. But then again, I wouldn't go to Sharm either... far far far too busy... I like peace and quiet when I go on hols....
Just my 2 pence...

Sharm El Sheikh is great! Been about 6 times. But I work for a tour operator which offers it. If you go though, you must try scuba diving!
That price of Ł340 All-Inc is bloody good through. Too good for us to compete with. But we do offer more top-end 4* and 5* inc Hyatt Regency.
Check us out!
