Last owners of my car have sprayed patches everywhere and I thought about trying to cut it back to original paint but its been undercoated aswel...now I was thinking about doing the hole car in a satin silver or grey ...summing diffrent from black...as I can't afford a proper respray yet and just want to try tidy up abit....anyone else done it and how did it turn out ...pics be good to....

i didnt paint the whole car but this started as a base model so all the bodykit spoiler bumpers arches were all spray can painted, cost me Ł100, i dont intend on paying for all the bodywork and a paintjob to be done when i still use it daily and twats put dings and scratches all over it, but i cant complain about the finish ive got with the price ive spent on paint alot cheaper and not all that noticeable

i wouldnt you will probably make it look worse.
you will struggle to get a even cover and to do a whole car would take LOTS of paint and lacquer and at Ł5-10 each it would soon mount up.
cheepo garage would be sub 500 i would think its no too much for a decent job.
also doing most of the prep you self would maybe help with the overall cost.

Yeah I was thinking satin or matte colours not metalic...it can't look any worse than what it does now...might just try a panel see how it turns out if there ever any decent weather again

if you have a workshop you can keep the car in and take your time blanking everything up and preparing it then then maybe give it a go? can always try using coach paint that can be rolled on and flatted back with good results. if you are planning on doing this on your drive or outside, especially this time of year i really wouldnt bother.
what car is it? get a photo up of how it is now

what car is it? me personally wouldnt undertake that outside, especially in winter. imagine if you sprayed it then it pissed it down! or some wind blows a load of leaves into it!

seriously if it has some form of paint cover just leave it for the winter. if you still feel the same in summer go for it. thats my only advice. on a mk3 fiesta just leave it be

Try searching t'internet for the "rustoleum method".
It basically involves using foam rollers and the rustoleum paint, then 800 cutting each layer and buffing to a good finish.
Worth a look, some of the jobs on there looked mint.
If you rattle can it in this weather it'll just "bloom" ie look like there's a white tint on it.
Also,if your using rattle cans put them in very hot water first and buy one of those plastic things that makes it like a spray gun, only about a fiver.
I've had some great results over the years with rattle cans and cutting back but often it's cheaper to just get the paint wholesale and just do a rough spraygun job.
